As I shamefully dragged myself along the streets, I passed my old home, where I lived with my wicked step-mother and my now-dead father. It wouldn't hurt to pay a visit? See if my step-mother moved out, or died! At a slow pace, I knocked on the front door, surprised to see my step-mother answer the door beaming at me, then watch her expression change - dark.
"W-what?! S-Selene, is that you?!" she scowled, she clearly wasn't glad I appeared at her door after 5 years of vanishing.
"Nancy? Is everything alright there?" A unknown man's voice yelled from across the hallway.
"Listen here, punk. I have my own family now, and I don't want you included in it!" she whispered angrily.
"Understood?!" she hissed (🐍)
"Yeah, yeah whatever never wanted to be part of your boring family anyway!" I grinned as I grabbed the door and slammed it in her face.
Karma freshly served!
I confidently strutted down towards the enormous forest, I felt as good as ever, like nothing could harm me, but then obviously I didn't have a clue where I was going. After hours of complaining and dragging myself along, I found a wilderness with colossal trees, I felt attached to it, just as I did to the beach in the past. I continued forwards, suddenly receiving my needed energy and encouragement. Brushing past the low branches, I discovered a massive abandoned palace, covered with vines and dirt.
Perfect, I thought. This place just needed a makeover, and viola! It would be just like Olympus, just lonelier.
*2 years later*
The palace is remodelled, it is like a gorgeous greenhouse expect it is a jungle, not some tomatoes and peas. I have welcomed different species into my wildness, even dangerous ones. Panthers, majestic yet vicious, I have managed tamed a whole army of them, I found out that somehow I can communicate with animals. It is truly a blessing that I will value at all times! I am pleased to be able to talk to my fellow neighbours, and even better, Artemis sometimes comes to visit me, so we aren't completely separate.
Overall, life is great, I'm living in a paradise, I don't need any king to rule over me, I mean I am the goddess of feminine power after all, I also am the leader of the Amazonian's, I treat them with respect, they treat me with respect, and together we put males in their correct places.
"Your Majesty, we have caught a male lurking around the palace gardens." Kelly, a loyal Amazonian, bowed.
"Bring him in, Kelly," I yelled.
3 Amazonia's dragged a guy along with a long dark cloak, I instantly started to say, "Reveal your identity, this instant!"
Fortunately, the mysterious male took of his cloak and was shocked to see who was underneath - Hermes.
"Hermes?! What brings you here?!" I bellowed, raising up from my throne.
He smiled and said, "I am here to deliver a message from Hephaestus, I mean no harm, Your Majesty,"
I was relived that he didn't want to attack my palace, I replied, "Well, thank you, go on, what is it?"
He passed me an envelope, similar to the one he gave to me on the beach. I opened and inside a letter read:
Dear Selene,
I am very sorry to bother you, but I offer to make you a special bow and arrow associated with your current palace, if you accept, just tell Hermes and he will tell me, do not worry if you disagree, I will not mind.
