Blood splattered onto my hands, I felt a touch of satisfaction and evil in my heart. I had killed Nemesis, had I gone too far? Was I getting to ahead of myself trying to get Artemis back? I was slowly going insane. "I will find you, I promise." I muttered underneath my breath. The fresh, cold breeze blew into my face as I wandered the streets, appalled at all the beautiful outdoor decorations. Suddenly, I heard a deafening scream from the forest on my right. Alarmed, I ran into the woods, trying to navigate where the shout came from. It happened again.
Another blood-curling scream, echoing through to trees, but instead, this time I managed to locate it.
A massive castle jotted upwards, with glistening windows, almost blinding me. Enormous castle doors, slightly ajar. Hesitantly, I slipped into the gap and was amazed to see the inside, marble scattered around everywhere, an archway full of ice spikes and snow.
"Greetings, Selene." A blunt voice yelled.
I turned to see Khione sitting on her ice throne, spitting hatred at me. I took a sharp breath, before I spoke up, "Oh wow! It's the cold-hearted ice queen. Tell me where Artemis is. Now."
She giggled, "Sorry dear, but you will have to win her back, I cannot simply give her back to you!"
I felt like walking up to her stupid throne and spitting in her ugly face. I sighed, "Well then, what do you want me to do to get her back?""I challenge you to a duel."
Scoffing, I responded, "Challenge accepted, Khione."
Hearing my reply, she stood up, and smiled, "Follow me to the battlefield, Selene." We walked down some stairs and we entered an arena. Vast walls stretched upwards, with long seats on top, we ambled to the centre. "Welcome, to my fabulous battle arena! Where we will battle to the death, winner takes all...LETS BEGIN!" she laughed manically.
I sprinted to the other side of the field, away from Khione, I had to think of some quick, efficient and deadly plan. My mind just couldn't focused, it was screaming at me every time Khione moved, making sure she wasn't trying to attack me. Taking a deep breath, I loaded my bow and arrow and nervously and carefully and circled the battlefield, keeping my eyes on her.I realised she was making something, I stared at her only to notice she was making an ice spike sword. This made my brain jump out of its curiosity and start warning me again, she lifted her head to glare at me, she smirked at me as she launched towards me. I tumbled to the right, avoiding her attempted attack, I released my arrow, watching it fly towards her. Proudly, I though I had killed her, but no! She magically froze the arrow and I watched it crumble into nothingness. Well, she was the goddess of snow and ice, so I didn't really know what I was expecting to be honest. I cursed underneath my breath, clearly I couldn't kill her with my bow, so I had to think of another solution - fast.
