Effortfully awakening, I found myself on shore, "finally!" my mind whined. I jumped out of the boat, realising I had made it to (hopefully) Europe, I rushed towards the busy town. The smell of delicious food twirled in my nostrils, tempting me to go eat something, I walked towards one of the cafes and saw that the sign was written in a language I couldn't quite recognise. Excited, I strut in walking the the cash register, hoping to find someone that could possibly help me, "Uh, hello! May I ask...What country are we in...and what city?" I stuttered, trying to seem confident.
"Ah, hello dear, we are in Italy! And in the city of Rome!" a kind lady spoke, in a thick accent, almost inaudible, but fortunately I managed to understand.
So, now I was in Italy, and in Rome, completely no clue what to do now, I reached land which was my main objective, but I didn't know what to do next."Thank you, madam," I smiled, glaring at the fresh bread beside her. I couldn't just steal it, that would be horrible, but then again, I was starving.
"No problem dear! See you around!" she answered, shooing me off. When she wasn't looking, I hastily latched onto the bread and dashed out of the store.
"HEY! SHE JUST STOLE MY BREAD! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! GET HER!" she yelled in an instant. I don't think I was ever so terrified in my life, I never stole bread before, but I tried to act courageous, I was the goddess of feminine power after all. After was seemed like an eternity, I managed to lose the massive crowd determined to capture me and throw me into prison. I slumped down by a tree, staring at the waves and the people having endless fun. I wondered what it was like for them, a completely ordinary mortal life, compared to my strange immortal one. I bit into the bread, it tasted like heaven! I devoured it in seconds, my stomach begged for more, but so couldn't just enter the same bakery after just robbing it, that would be idiotic and that is the opposite of what I hope to be on the journey.
Curiously, I walked towards and eerie woodland, I hesitated for a moment, then forced myself inside, not looking back. Arched trees swaying as the fog lurked between the leaves, it was almost pitch black expect some light desperately squeezing through the gaps of the low branches. I was amazed at the forest, it was so...mysterious yet majestic, I could stay here forever, admire it with...Artemis. I had almost completely forgotten about her, how could I?! She was the reason I was out here in the first place! And now I am talking a little, innocent walk through a forest, forgetting my problems and the dangers possibly surrounding me! I felt so disappointed, how would Artemis feel? I was here. Taking walks. As she was suffering in Greece with an evil snow goddess slowly killing her! I furiously stomped through the forest, not looking down.
That ended up being a really big mistake. I tripped over a branch and fell into what seemed like an infinite hole. I instantly recognised where I was falling - Tartarus.
