Panic tossed through my body, I was unable to control any movement, I was falling straight down, there was no one to save me. I couldn't speak, move any of my limbs or slow myself down. Where and how was I going to land?! I instantly thought of Artemis, what was she going through? Had I disappointed her by falling into Tartarus? Worst of all, I was alone.
Long time periods passed, and I'm guessing I fainted because after I woke up I found myself on a hard, rocking surface. It was a miracle I was still alive, I hadn't expected myself to even survive getting to the floor, but now I had a crucial mission to fulfil - escape Tartarus. Effortfully, I slowly raised myself to try even see my surroundings, but it was so dark that all I could see what a eerie light glooming down below. Curiously, I trudged towards the edge of the cliff, I was shocked yet amazed to see a... river of fire?
At first I hesitated, but then I carefully clambered down the cliff, trying my hardest not to slip. After I made it down, I walked towards the fierce river, I was confused whether it was safe to drink or I would die if I tried. Stupidly, I dipped my hand in a river and grabbed a handful of fire-water and tipped in my mouth. Surprisingly, I wasn't dead yet, in fact, it wasn't even so bad, but it was spicy, but I definitely could live off it. Eventually, I continued my journey forwards (at least it seemed forwards) hoping nothing would appear and try to murder me. Obviously, I jinxed it, the second my mind finished processing that sentence, a empousa appeared from the shadows, startling me.
"Hello, darling," her deep, raspy voice hissed.
"Hi, and bye!" I instantly replied, hoping she would leave me alone. But obviously, she just had to be so problematic that she giggled at me, "Oh no dear, I haven't even finished with you! Just you wait for the fun part!"
That instantly made me feel uncomfortable, and if I didn't leave or kill her, I think my body atoms would explode. Trust me, it isn't a nice feeling. "Sorry to ruin your 'fun' but I actually have to leave this wreck!" I smirked back. I could tell she was fed up with my attitude, she backed away slowly, I thought she had listened, but nope! She launched at me, extending her claws but luckily she barely missed, I grabbed my bow and arrow and shot at her aimlessly. With my fortune, I missed.I had hoped nothing would appear in path, but I guess we cannot all get what we want, like I want a stable relationship and leave this boiling prison!
Reloading my bow, I noticed that she had gotten her claw stuck in the rock behind where I was previously standing. I used this as an advantage, I aimed at her, and let go, the arrow flew towards her, I was already celebrating my victory! Until, a magical force field appeared around her, protecting her from my arrow, "You're kidding! It would of been such a smooth shot!" my mind complained, I was fed up with my brain, I wanted it to leave my head, but annoyingly, it didn't. Stupid brain! As I was scolding my brain, the empousa managed to free herself and tumbled towards me. With my quick reflexes, I hastily reloaded by bow and speedily fired at her. Finally, I had hit her, she yelled, "NOOO-" her shouting was cut short after she crumbled in to dust, I grinned at myself, proud of what I had achieved.
