He spoke in a rather posh, raspy voice.
"Uh, hello? May I ask who are you and why were you stalking me just a few minutes ago?!" I instantly questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, I am Hermes, the Messenger God! Part of the 12 Olympians!" he exclaimed, posing as if he was flexing his muscles.
I froze with confusion and shock, a greek god was literally standing right in front of me, speaking to me. Nervously, I answered, "I'm Selene, pleased to meet you, Lord Hermes."
I tried for a smile, but it just turned out extremely awkward, "Ah, yes, I was looking for you, perfect timing!" Hermes laughed, weirdly putting his hand to his chest.

"As the Messenger God, I have news from Zeus to deliver straight to you!" he explained, reaching out an envelope plated with gold on the edges.
He reached his hand out and proceeded to say, "For you, enjoy! It is necessary to read so make sure you do!"
Quickly yet excitedly, I snatched the letter from the god and zealously opened it. Bracing myself, I read the letter:
Dear Selene,
I am glad to write to you to inform that you are miraculously related to one of the 12 olympians in Mount Olympus, your true mother is the goddess of love and beauty - Aphrodite. I am pleased to invite you to Olympus for you to introduce yourself to the gods, you will be welcomed here at 4:00 PM sharp. Don't be late, don't be early.
We are located on the 600th floor in the Empire State Building.
From Zeus.
Amazed, I glared up at Hermes, who looked just as hyper as me. Blinking insanely, I tried to find any words to say but my throat was completely dried out.
"Well congrats! You have been welcomed into Olympus!" Hermes grinned at me, raising his eyebrows.
Breaking the deafening silence, I squealed, "No way my true mother is a goddess! Especially of love and beauty!"
Staring down at my feet, I didn't know what to say next, or what emotion I should feel.
"Shocking isn't it? Maybe you may be lucky and Zeus will make you immortal! So you can become a minor goddess!" he chuckled, folding his arms together.
Instantly, I felt a gleam of joy in my empty heart, I could become immortal, have immortal friends, maybe find true love!

Nodding, I added, "I will make sure I'll be there, thank you, Lord."
"My pleasure, Selene," he answered, suddenly vanishing, only leaving a trail of white smoke flying through the air.
Skipping on my way home, I slowly started to rethink my decision, what about my father? I didn't really care about that witchy step-mother, but I couldn't possibly just leave my dad alone with that old hag! Pushing aside the negative thoughts, I started to think about the positive ones, about my time there, what amount Olympus actually looks like, not just in the myths and legends.

Eventually, I got home, I opened the door just to be greeted by my crying step-mother, I was shocked, she never cries...
