Artemis arrived in front of my throne, beaming at me.
"Hey, Selene! Do you perhaps want to go for a walk in the woods?" Artemis asked, her voice sounded different, as if she was sick.
"Yeah, sure!" I smiled back, shrugging off the fact her voice sounded weirdly.
So, we decided to go for a walk in the woods, it beautiful and peaceful, nothing bothered us. It was like the old times again, that was one of the many reasons why I loved her.
"Hey, Artemis, remember that one time, when we caught Apollo complementing himself?" I giggled, as we skipped past the marshes.
"No?" She instantly answered, ruining the happy mood.
"Uh, oh. Never mind then!" I responded, hoping I didn't offend her in any way.
It was so strange, I asked her that yesterday while I was passing by to go to Zeus, she said she did remember, she couldn't just suddenly... forget? Could she? Especially not in one day..."Are you coming or what?" she said, in a harsh tone she never spoke to me in.
"Yeah, coming right alongside you!" I replied, pretending I didn't notice something was off.
"Uh, Artemis, now that I think off it, I have to go, sorry!" I made up an excuse randomly, I just couldn't stay with her, or even is she was the real one.
"Ugh. Whatever. Bye," she scowled back, as I noticed one of her eyes turned... red?
I ran off, hoping not to turn back. As I was sprinting, I accidentally bumped into Dionysus, who was just passing by.
"Woah, careful, where to since your rushing so much?" he chuckled, helping me up.
"Uh, to my palace. Forgot to feed the panthers!" I nervously laughed.
"Alright, bye," he said back, thankfully he was acting normal!Sitting on my throne, I wondered, what is happening to Artemis, I mean... is that even her? Maybe it's some disguise!
"M'lady, are you okay? You are sweating terribly, you seem quite anxious?" Izah asked, with worry in her tone.
"I'm alright, Izah, but thank you for checking," I responded, smiling.
"HEY, SELENE, I NEED TO TALK TO YOU. NOW!" Artemis yelled, smirking mischievously.
"Alright," I sighed, following her to a private place.
As we walked through the royal gardens, we stayed silent. I was waiting for her to say something, maybe like have an idea to go somewhere, or apologise for screaming at me earlier, but no. there was nothing - nothing at all.Artemis lead us to some overgrown building ruins, which was a stunning place to be, and especially hang out with the partner, well not one in a disguise, she isn't even the real Artemis. I'm just waiting for the right opportunity to confront her.
"So...you wanted to talk?" I decided to speak first, breaking the silence.
"Yes... I see you have noticed something about me..."
she responded suspiciously.
I instantly knew where this conversation was going.
"And, I knew that, from how you made up an excuse to leave, you couldn't be around me with the horrible gut feeling!" she laughed.
"That is why I'm here. To show you who I REALLY am." she added.Suddenly, she stood up and twirled quickly, revealing her real identity. I was horrified to see who was underneath the disguise - Khione, goddess of snow.
"Hello, Selene, goddess of royalty, feminine power, grace and conquests." She menacingly grinned, breaking in to maniacal laughter after.
