Kiki's POV
I'm currently sitting in my room with Kwasii, who had woken me up once I was placed on the bed. He was studying the old scars that everyone found out about. I was shaking from anxiety due to hearing footsteps. He stood up. "I'll be right back, lass." I nodded and he started towards the door. He opened the door and he left, closing it just about all the way. I closed my eyes, not hearing anything. "Hey, kid." I heard the rough tone of my father whisper in my ear. Out of instinct, I kicked him in the jaw. "Agh! Kid! It's just your father!" "You're no father to me." I felt someone tugging on my ear. "Oh, yeah? You should feel worse pain than what I'm feeling, brat." I screamed as he sliced a small pocket knife into my ear. It didn't go too far due to Dashi hearing my screams and escorting my father out. "Kiki, are you alright?" I shook my head really quickly. My heart was pounding, my ear was bleeding, and my migraine was unbearable. "I'll go get Peso!" As quickly as she came, she went out of the room to go find Peso.
Dashi's POV
I quickly got Peso to come to Kiki's room. Her father should be arrested for all of the damage he had done to Kiki's physical and mental health! Brice rushed in as well, calming his sister down while Peso treated the wound. Kiki was mumbling and fidgeting the whole time. Peso gave her some painkillers and she fell asleep. "We've gotta get this man out of here." Brice shook his head in disappointment. "Consider it done." The captain walked in. "Captain! You got him out?" I asked, and he nodded. "If I see one more injured person, I might lose it." We all laughed with Peso. "Very funny, Peso. We've never seen you get mad over something like that!" The captain chuckled. "Who knows? I might be serious this time!" Peso joked.
We glanced over at Kiki after we talked about Peso joking around, and we saw that her paw was clenched up (she has claws because she's a ferret), she was shifting around a lot, and she was whimpering a little. The captain got Brice in the room and he started to calm her down while she was asleep. Once she seemed fine, Peso, Barnacles and I left the room, leaving Brice and Kiki in there, just in case something else bad happens.
(Sorry this chapter was short. I just broke up with my boyfriend and I just don't feel safe as of right now, so I'll be taking a break from writing chapters because I'm on the urge of a mental breakdown. I hope you guys are doing alright, and I'll see you after my break.)
