(Hello! Sorry for unpublishing this chapter, I just noticed a major issue and I needed to fix it!)
Captain Barnacles's PoV
Everyone came to HQ at an instant when Paani reached out for help. I haven't slept at all last night, so I was only running off of six cups of caffeine.
"What's going on, Paani?" I raised an eyebrow at the monkey's worried expression. Brice was there as well, which normally meant that Kiki was also there. However, not that I could see it. "Where's Kiki?"
Paani spoke up in a worried tone;
"Captain, Kiki was just trying to help me with my water studies in *below* freezing cold water to see if it was contaminated, but... She fell off her log and I can't find my paddle board." Brice then added to Paani's words with, "And us ferrets can't swim for very long, and the current is harshly fast. We ourselves won't have enough time to get her, because she's headed quickly to a lake that's freezing over at a rapid pace!" The octonauts gasped and Tunip fainted. "Understood," My voice called out and Paani closed out. I look back at the octonauts, and call out Dashi, Tweak and Peso so we can help with what we need to do. And so, we went and headed to their location.
We arrived in the octo-ray, and I was quick to spot a freezing ferret heading to a freezing-over lake. They weren't kidding when they said we had limited time. I got in the gup-C and crashed through ice until I reached Kiki. I held out my paw and reached for hers, which she weakly grabbed and I pulled her into my arms. I tried to leave with the gup, but it wasn't moving anywhere. It was almost stuck to the ice. In a panic, I reported the situation to Dashi and Tweak, so they got to the event to help out with the gup.
Dashi and Tweak eventually lowered the rope and tied it to the gup C, managing to pull it back up while it froze with the lake after a while, which was a struggle, but it got out. I went to go check on the little hypothermic ferret, who was asleep in the gup E with a warm, soft, weighted blanket and an empty cup of hot chocolate. The gup was really warm, perfect for the little girl. I ask Peso how she's doing, and he tells me..
"She'll be alright, captain!" I smile at Peso's response. "Perfect timing for Christmas?" Peso nods at my question. This was a relatively close call from an octo-agent almost drowning in freezing cold water. I stay with Kiki, Paani, and Brice while they studied water in case something happened. This time, I was on another log with Kiki, just in case she fell in again, and whenever she would, I'll be happy to help her back up and warm her up.
(Hello! Sorry I have to cut this one short, I might not be able to update this much because I got a new phone, and it's quite confusing, to say the least. Well, I hope you have/had a Merry Christmas, or any other holiday you may celebrate, and I wish you all a happy new year! I didn't have many ideas for this, so I'm hoping it's good enough for this little mission for the Christmas season. This story might have to end soon, unfortunately, but who knows? I might make Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, or even New Years special stories! Just request a holiday special, and I'll make it as accurate as possible! Hope you guys had a wonderful day, and if you've had a bad one, I hope you feel better soon! You're enough, and I love you all like family! <3)
