Chapter 16: Thoughts

3rd person PoV
As Kiki awoke from her slumber, she looked around the familiar room, and at her brother. Brice seemed to be asleep, so she hesitantly got up from her bed and walked out of the room. Though, she felt as if she was being watched, like she usually feels. But this time, it was... ...different. It didn't feel like someone staring afar, it was as if someone, or something, was following her as she made one more step in the hallways of the octopod to get to the Launch Bay. The moment she turned around, her anxiety currently contained inside had faded, slowly. She made her way down to the Launch Bay, finding the Captain and Shellington talking about who knows what. She walked over to Shellington, and grabbed his hand, though, her anxiety doesn't deplete any. "Someone woke up from her nap?" The captain stroked Kiki's fur. She'd nod, burying her face into Shellington's arm due to how short she is. "Did you sleep well, kid?" Shellington asked. To be honest, Kiki doesn't remember much..

Kiki's PoV
I tell the two that I don't remember if I had a dream or not, and they explained how they thought I was having some sort of nightmare. I don't remember flinching or whining at a blank scenery by any means.. They just go right back to talking as I sit by the water. I stare at the undisturbed water that reflects the ceiling. I have a sudden thought to purposely fall into the water, but I resist. I don't wanna fear any of the Octonauts, after all. Suddenly, I see ripples in the water, and unbenounced to me, it was Kwazii. I roll my eyes a bit as the tabby cat jumps out of his gup. Something has... changed with me. I'm not my usual sweet self anymore. But now, I feel as if someone is coming to the octopod. I'm not sure why, but I just have that random thought in my head.

That's when Dashi slid down a shoot and ran towards the Captain, reporting something I couldn't really hear. That's when I heard the iconic "Sound the Octo-alert!" Spill out of the Captain's mouth. I counted to 3 in my mind, and the sirens started blaring their occasional alarm noise. "Octonauts," "To the Launch Bay!" I finished the Captain's sentence, and he looked over at me with a smile. Of course, it took a bit of time until everyone got to the Launch Bay. I asked what was happening, to which the captain replied: "Dashi has reported to have spotted something by the river, and I'll need two volunteers to go with me to find it." Of course, Kwazii and Peso both requested to go with him, and that was eventually settled. Brice put his paw on my shoulder, practically telling me not to go with them. I wasn't even thinking about doing so, and I just shrugged. They all got to the Gup E, before diving down into the water as Tweak opened the Octohatch. Once they left, I decided to go help the vegimals in the Greenhouse. If only I had gone with and seen what they're gonna do.. Maybe I would've felt a bit better. But alas, I remain feeling as if I'm being stalked..
