"Expose a baterium to a toxic chemical, and it will flee or deploy some other defense mechanism. Were very much the same when we encounter danger our hearts start pounding . Our palm start to sweat. These are the signs of physical and emotional sates we call-
...fear." Mr clarke paces around the room talking in a suspenseful voice.
*ringgg* the bell rings in the middle of mr Clarke speech
"Alright well finish this lesson tommorow. Go over you note on chaper 167." Mr clarke calls out as everyone floods into the hallway.
I walk to my locker placing my textbook inside. I feel a grab on my wrist I look over to see lucas. "Oh hey!" I smile at him.
"Come on." He says tugging my arm.
"Wait." I close my locker "where are we going?" I ask as lucas drags me to the school doors. Lucas pushes to wide door open ignoring my question revaling dustin sitting in the on top of the worn out steps. Lucas sits down on the 3rd step in sit near the bottom across from mike. I glace over between lucas, mike and dustin.
"So, why are we sitting on the steps?" I ask.
"We're waiting for will." Dustin answers.
"Although, were not sure if hes coming or not you know after yesterday and everything." Lucas sat with a bit of annyonce glare towards mike.
But mike stay staring at the driveway his eye full with worry.
"I'm sure he'll come." Dustin say with uncertainty.
"Did you guys try calling?" I ask
Mike tears his head toward me."No. but, that's a good idea he points his finger at me before hoping off the steps running towards the telephone box.
Quickly after mike picks up the phone. He slams it back down
"Anything?" Lucas ask as mike runs back to the stair case.
"We need to talk. Av room. Right now!" Mike say with urgency as he runs up the stairs.
I get up of the stairs grabbing my bookbag and skateboard.
"Party members only!" Mike say as he looks back at me.
"Come on mike, you cant keep doing this." Dustin protest.
"This is non- negotiable!"
"Sorry max!"
"Sorry." Dustin and lucas let out there apologises before walking into the school.
I scoffle and take a seat back down on the step. This is becoming some kinda routine 'lock max outta the av room'. And im starting to think mike gets some kinda thrill and power with leaving me out, letting me think I could possibly be apart of there stupid party just to be all weird and secertive. I'm done with thier bullshit. I start to feel tears rolling down my cheek from anger. I stood up of the grim steps and made my back to the entrance going to chemistry

We walk into the av room
Mike takes a sit on table I sit in the nearest chair dustin continues to stand both of us staring at mike wondering what's the suddent emergency.
"Will didnt want my to tell anyone" mike starts. "But on Halloween night, he saw a sort of shawdow in the sky."
"A shawdow? What do you mean a shawdow?" I ask confused.
