Max." I hear mike call my name as I ride my skateboard up to the school.
"Hey?" I say as I change my direction and make my way over to him.
"What are yo-" I say looking at mike is standing a few feet away from the dumpster hold up a long wooden stick.
"Max!" I hear a familiar voice call from the dumpster.
"Lucas?" I ask "what you doing in there?."
"Were looking for dart. You gonna help or what?" Mike says handing me a stick.
I drop my bookbag and skateboard, putting them off to the side.
"Mike, I don't know think there might be rats in here-" Lucas say his voice full of concern.
"Lucas, stop being a baby and do it already!"
A loud sigh comes from the trash can.
"I don't think dart cawled in the dumpster. This is disgusting and really unnecessary.
"What the hell is going on?" Dustin says running up from the corner.
What do you think? Were looking for dart." Mike says in a duh-tone.
"Jesus!" Dustin screams we all jump back as trash starts to fly out the dumpster.
"Ugh" mike groans looking at the trash.
Well, well, well. Lucas says jump oit the trash bin.
"Look who finally decide to join is after I drew the short straw. Real convenient. Lucas glares at dustin. His hands on his hips.
God, lucas, you sink." I say after get a swiff of him. He smells like spoiled milk and moldy chicken
"Hi max" dustin shoots me big cheeky smile.
"Hi?" I say confused at his suddent change in attitude.
"Weres will?" Dustin ask looking around.
"He'll be here." Mike nodds
'You just gonna stand there or actually help" lucas says tossing the curly headed boy a wooden stick.
We all move in circling around the trash bag poking it with the wooden sticks.
"You guys see something?" Mike ask after a few minutes of us poking around.
"Nope."
We down down our sticks.
"Hey max." Lucas says with his hands wide open walk of to me.
"Lucas. No." I grab my stick and point it towards him.
"Stay back!" I tried to be serious but a smile still managed to creep up on my face.
"Max" lucas say still cwalking up towards me.
"Lucas I swear-" I start but was interrupted by lucas lunging towarss me. I take off running full speed I can hear him running behind me.
"Comeon you know you want a hug" he says in swords of laughter.
"No" I say not being able to contain my giggles.
We found ourselves running in circles around dustin and mike.
I look over at see mike rolling his eyes and Dustin dustin head fixated to tje ground.
I bring my attention back to lucas and see he heavy breathing beside the dumpter.
I let out one more laugh before before taking this as a cue I walk over by the corner grabbing my skayeboard and bookbag.
"I'm going to class. Catch you losers later!"
"Bye.. Max" lucas says between breaths.
I skate off to the main entrance.
