"Hello? Who is this? How did you get Kiel's phone?" Perseus asked. His friends, Zild and Vladimir looked at Perseus and stood next to him.
"I'm at a house with other people, including the owner of the phone you're using. It's near the city. Where are you? What's the situation outside?" Perseus replied.
"Sino kausap mo?" Vladimir asked, but Perseus gestured him to be quiet.
"The situation outside is chaotic. I'm currently at a city coffee shop, constantly on edge dealing with these monsters. I narrowly escaped what seemed like an inescapable fate, but I'm badly injured and surrounded by infected."
"What specific help do you need?"
Varus, who was talking to Yuki, overheard Perseus talking. He told Yuki to stay put as he was going to listen to Perseus and Lilith's conversation.
"I don't feel secure in where I am. The infected could break in at any moment, and I'm running low on food. I won't last more than a couple of days... Do you have food there?"
Cadmus stood up and went near them to hear their conversation better.
"Well, that's the problem. There are a lot of us here, and we're planning to look for food today." Varus said.
"If I could help you find food, would you let me join your group?" Lilith proposed.
"Yeah, sure," Perseus responded without hesitation, accepting her offer.
"There is a small grocery store not far from where I am. I could make a run for it to unlock it and save you guys some time. You should also get going while the infected are distracted and the street is less crowded from the grocery store's direction." Lilith suggested.
"No, it's too risky for you-" Cadmus voiced concern.
"Well, do you have any better ideas?" Lilith interrupted, determined to help.
"How will you unlock it? Do you have the key?"
"No, but I know a way," Lilith assured them.
"Just stay safe. We're relying on you," Cadmus said and the group expressed their trust in her as they ended the call to prepare themselves go outside.
Lilith shared the store's street address, and fortunately, it was nearby. The store was located between one and three blocks away, so the group only needed to cross two streets to reach it.
"Hey guys, do we really have to go all the way there just to be superheroes to this girl we barely know? We only talked to her for a few seconds. There might be another store closer to us. 'Yun nalang 'yung puntahan natin! Do we really have to risk our lives for this? It seems more reasonable to be a bit selfish and look out for our own well-being than risk it for some chick." Zild said.
Cadmus approached Zild, "Think about it this way. Helping this girl might be our surefire ticket to getting some food. She could be our key to survival in this situation.
"Survival is important, but is she really gonna help us get food?"
"Well, she seemed genuine in wanting our help. If she can help us, it's a win-win!" Vladimir said.
