CHAPTER 08: JUDAS ISCARIOT: BETRAYAL BEYOND WORDS

third person's POV.

...

In the mansion, everyone felt really scared and didn't trust each other after what happened last night.

Looking worried, Perseus spoke up, "Let's move them to a private place."

Candice and Drystan nodded, agreeing that they needed to do something about the bodies. They all went to the room where the scary thing happened, and Perseus took the lead. Perseus and Drystan helped each other carry the three bodies and move them to a separate room, while Candice cleaned up the blood.

They worked silently, cleaning up the mess and making sure everything looked okay. After they finished, they looked at each other, realizing that fixing things was just the start and that the house didn't feel safe like it used to...

In the kitchen, Zild and Gerthy were together while Gerthy prepared lunch.

Zild, wanting to know more about Gerthy, asked, "How old are you?"

"Turned 18 recently. You?" Gerthy replied, her eyes showing worry.

"Turning 19 next week," Zild said. "Before all this, what job did you want?"

"Well, I always wanted to be a flight attendant. You know, travel and stuff. Ikaw?" Gerthy asked.

Zild's face changed. "I wanted to be a pilot. Similar pala tayo ng gustong job."

"Weh? Seryoso?" Gerthy laughed. "Too bad we're stuck here dealing with these monsters instead."

Zild sighed, "Yeah, do you think things will get back to normal?

With a hopeful look, Gerthy replied, "I hope so."

Zild gazed into the distance, "I miss the times when our biggest worry was figuring out what we want to be in future, not surviving zombies. If things settle down, do you think we can still pursue those careers?"

Gerthy nodded, her expression reflecting determination. "Sana. Imagine us working on planes instead of fighting zombies. That would be so much better!"

Zild cracked a small smile, finding comfort in Gerthy's optimism. "You're right. We just need to stay alive until then."

Zild, wanting to lighten the mood, asked, "Ano pang gusto mo? What's your hobby?"

Gerthy smiled, "Well, besides cooking, mahilig ako magbasa. Before all this, I used to spend hours na nagbabasa lang."

Zild chuckled, "Ako, lagi naglalaro ng games. I would spend weekends with friends battling virtual monsters. Now, it feels like we're in a real-life game."

Gerthy laughed at Zild mentioning of being in a real life game. "Video games, huh? I never really got into them..." As Gerthy and Zild continued their conversation, she couldn't help but express concern for his well-being. "Zild, nag-aalala ako. What's it like sa labas when you guys went to get food? Okay ka lang ba?"

"Going out was really intense. Infecteds everywhere. Had to be super quiet and quick. Almost got caught once."

Zild sighed, recounting the nerve-wracking experience. "When we were sneaking around cars and went under it to hide, infecteds were surrounding us. My heart was pounding really loud and I've never been so scared."

Zild, looking somber, decided to share another experience. "And you know that girl we brought in? When I found her, she was being held hostage by someone with a gun. It was intense, Gerthy. Luckily, no one got hurt, but it was too close for comfort."
