CHAPTER 13: A TINY EXPLORER.

third person's POV.

...

"There will be rescue team station at the subway on april 28th." Perseus addressing the group.

Varus quickly checked the calendar to confirm.

"Two days from now. We need to get ready." Varus said, checking the calendar.

Cadmus asked, "So, what's the plan?"

"Perhaps we should gather intel on the zombies outside. Pag-aralan natin sila, know their patterns, nature and strengths." Drystan suggested.

Vladimir shrugged, "Zombies are pretty straightforward – dumb and hungry for our flesh."

"Still, knowing their symptoms and behaviour can help us navigate this situation more efficiently." Zild chimed in.

Lilith suddenly appearing, said, "I assume that its a virus that quickly infects the central nervous system, causing its aggression and sadistic behavior given that the central nervous system is responsible for receiving, processing, and responding to sensory information. Eventually, the infected will lose control over their actions, as the virus manipulates their limbic system and pleasure centers in the brain, making them to engage in a destructive behavior."

"She's right." Serena, speaking as a doctor, explained, "From what I observed, the virus shows immediate symptoms, such as convulsions and vasculitis. Convulsion is a type of seizure, where it is a sudden, uncontrollable muscle contraction, while vasculitis is inflammation of blood vessels, causing harm to their walls and disrupting normal blood flow, affecting various parts of the body. The virus spreads through the circulatory system, impacting the brain and leading to neurological damage. This results in aggression and a loss of higher brain functions. The virus also affects the eyes, causing cloudiness and myopia. I guess those who are infected primarily rely on their sense of hearing or also their smell, as their other senses deteriorate."

"10 seconds." Lilith added. "They turn in 10 second, I saw."

"So, basically, we have to aim for their heads to kill them." Varus chimed in.

Drystan suggested, "We need to find out if the virus spreads only through bites or if there are other means, like infected saliva entering open wounds. Additionally, we need to determine if the virus is mutagenic, potentially evolving and posing new threats."

"Given the virus's severity, I guess it probably might not only spread through bites but also through contact with infected saliva or other fluids." Gerthy pointed out.

"Why in World War Z, though?" Vladimir asked. He clarified, "There was a scene there that the main character didn't turn when the zombie fluids entered his mouth."

Syndra told Vladimir, "Tanga ka ba? Real life and movies are different things. Our situation may not follow the same rules as in World War Z."

Vladimir was about to say something, when all of the sudden, Dolunay interrupted, "Shouldn't we be focusing on what's happening inside this house now, not just outside? The real threat might be closer than we think." Dolunay said while her gaze was fixed on Lilith.

"Luna's right. We shouldn't bring the killer along with us." Perseus stated, agreeing with Dolunay.

Cadmus turned to Dolunay, asking, "Do you have any idea who the killer might be?"

A moment of silence as Dolunay contemplated, and then she replied, "No," maintaining her gaze on Lilith. "Maybe we should take some time to get to know each other first. Parang nag-iintroduce yourself lang sa first of class. Let's start sa basics lang. Full name, age and what you do in life." Dolunay suggested.
