CHAPTER 23: TAKE A SLICE.
third person's pov.
...
As Serena reached out to touch her stomach, she felt something wet and warm. Looking down, she saw her hands stained red with blood. Shock and pain flooded her senses.
She had been shot.
The agony was unbearable as she held her wound and tears blurred her vision as she struggled to comprehend what was happening, while Yuki's cries filled the air.
"Yuki..."
Serena's strength faltered, and she collapsed to the floor of the helicopter, the pain overwhelming her. Yuki's sobs grew louder.
Without any emotions on her face, Lilith approached Serena who was still conscious, but weakened. Lilith pushed her out of the open door of the chopper and Serena fell straight down from the sky and crashed onto the hard ground below
Yuki cried uncontrollably, her tears flowing freely, her cries filled with grief and desperation as she looked below. A soldier entered the chopper and tried to comfort Yuki as the chopper started up, they quickly departed from the place.
The helicopter rised high in the air, carrying Lilith and Yuki to safety, making them the last survivors of their group...
Lilith leaned back in her seat, feeling tired. As she closed her eyes to relax, her mind wouldn't let her rest. A voice echoed in her mind, a haunting whisper that demanded her attention
"Why?" it asked, "What was the reason?"
Lilith tried to push the voice away, ignoring it. But it persisted, relentless. Again, the voice forced upon her thoughts, refusing to be ignored.
"Why did you do it?"
With a heavy sigh, Lilith opened her eyes to gaze out at the world passing by below.
"Because I could," she confessed. "I honestly don't have a deep reason for the things I've done..."
What?
As they flew on, Lilith tried to understand the realization that her actions lacked justification. It was a moment of painful honesty, forcing her to confront the senselessness of her past deeds.
"Does there need to be a reason for everything?"
She leaned back, a cruel smirk playing on her lips. She questioned her actions, na kahit siya hindi niya alam ang sagot.
Maybe because I wanted to see them suffer?
But I enjoyed the power it gave me.
It amused me.
In a world full of wolves, Lilith was once a sheep. She just turned the tables and realized that pain gave pleasure, and she regret nothing...
LILITH'S POV.
Continuing my story earlier, like what I said, as a child, there was this one thing that captured my imagination like nothing else. It stood there in the window of the toy store, a dollhouse.
It wasn't just the dollhouse itself that attracted me; it was the power it represented.
You see, I didn't just want to play with the dolls and rearrange the furniture, I wanted to control them. I wanted to be the master of their little universe, dictating their every move and shaping their destinies.
It's funny how childhood dreams can sometimes foreshadow the paths we'll take in life. Because here I am now, all grown up, and in a way, I've fulfilled that longing from so long ago. I may not be playing with dolls anymore, but I do have my own little "dollhouse," so to speak, a world where I pull the strings, where I orchestrate the events, where I am the master of fate.
