CHAPTER 14

third person's point of view.

...

"Luna, why are you still bringing up our past? I've moved on, and I thought you would too." Lilith sighed.

back when Lilith and Dolunay was talking in the kitchen.

Dolunay, her voice with sorrow, whispered, "Lilith, besides from my father, you're my one and only friend. I can't forget because it feels like letting go of the one anchor in my life!"

"That anchor is what holding you back and pulling you down—""

Dolunay ignored what Lilith said and continued, "How do you expect me to move on when the one person I relied on the most becomes a stranger!?" Dolunay sighed.

"Back when we were kids, we had been mutually supporting each other, Lilith. You just hadn't acknowledged it that way. You played a crucial role in helping me discover my own strength. Also, in times of vulnerability, you always understood my struggles and always offered com—"

Lilith, her tone flat and emotionless, went on, "Luna, face it. I don't give a damn about you. I couldn't care less with what you are saying. You were nothing more than someone I used. To me, you're just a pawn." she bluntly said. It felt like a heavy revelation. Her words made the room uncomfortable, like a friendship turning into a hurtful memory. Dolunay felt dismissed by Lilith's harshness.

...

"Lilith didn't do anything wrong!" Cadmus shouted at Dolunay, "Put the gun down!"

Dolunay yelled back, "Hindi n'yo kilala si Lilith! She's dangerous! We can't trust her!"

Without a hint of emotion, Drystan pulled out a gun, pointing it at Dolunay's head. "Drop the gun," he said calmly.

Gasps filled the room as Drystan revealed a hidden gun. The atmosphere grew even more tense, with everyone on edge.

Dolunay unfazed by Drystan, said "You don't get it, Drystan. Lilith's dangerous!"

Drystan's expression remained emotionless. "I said, drop the gun. Now. I will not hesitate to pull the trigger."

"Why won't anyone believe me!" Dolunay faced Cadmus again. "Ano bang meron kay Lilith? Why is everyone taking her side!?"

Drystan approached Dolunay, the gun pressing against her head, intensifying the tense atmosphere in the room. "I said, drop it "

Varus firmly instructed, "Drystan, back off. Let's not escalate this further."

Dolunay gave up, dropping her gun and raising her hands. Drystan picked up the gun and handed it back to Varus, defusing the tension.

Dolunay chuckled softly as tears streamed down her face, admitting, "Well, this is embarrassing. Why do I always feel defeated when it comes to Lilith?"

Cadmus pulled Dolunay aside, guiding her away from the group for a private conversation.

"What has gotten into you? Why do you hate Lilith so much?" Cadmus asked.

Dolunay countered with a question of her own, "No, Cadmus. What has gotten into you with Lilith?"

"Don't change the subject. What's with you and you're anger with Lilith? Nagseselos ka ba sakanya or what? We're in the middle of the apocalypse, and your behavior isn't helping! Why are you acting this way!?" Cadmus snapped.

"I just want us to be safe, Cadmus, I want you safe! Lilith is dangerous, and I can't ignore that!"

"Kilala kita, e, tangina, ganitong ganito ka dati palang! She's fucking harmless, Luna! If this is about your personal conflicts with her, we can't let that jeopardize the group's safety! Why do you always act so destructive?" Cadmus said with frustration evident in his voice.
