Chapter 15: Shadows of the Past

After Smokescreen was sent to his room to recharge, Megatron went to his quarters where he was reminiscing on the days when he was a young famous gladiator before he became the Decepticon warlord that everyone knows him today.

(Flashback)

Megatron when he was known as Megatronus won another battle at the arena, but the monster he fought in the gladiatorial Pits of Kaon gave him wounds and some injuries. Megatronus was in need of medical attention. He was laying on a berth feeling burning pain from his battle scars when Megatronus couldn't help but whimper and cry in pain. Suddenly, he heard a beautiful, kind, and gentle voice that came from a fembot that came in to check on him.

"Are you okay?" a female voice asked.

Megatronus opened his deep blue optics and he turned around and saw a gorgeous magenta and light pink fembot with jet wings on her back and cyan blue optics. She was a nurse working in Kaon and she was hired to tend to the wounds of a famous gladiator, like Megatronus.

"Who...?" Megatronus asked, his voice cracked with pain and sadness.

"I'm Firestar. I am a nurse at Kaon. I'm...kind of new here." the fembot introduced herself. Megatronus tried to get up, but he was in so much pain that he couldn't get up. Firestar told the gladiator not to move and increase the pain in his body.

"Don't strain yourself. You just take it easy with your recovery. I'll get the medical kit. Do not worry, Megatronus. You'll be alright." Firestar said comfortingly while holding her blue tablet.

"Th...Thank you...I'm Megatronus." Megatronus said to Firestar before he groaned in pain.

"Shhh. Just take it easy. I will have your wounds healed within a megacycle. You will recover as soon as I tend to your injuries." Firestar promised.

Megatronus laid back and rested while this beautiful and new female nurse went to get a medical kit to tend to his injuries. Firestar was kind, gentle, and careful as she began to heal Megatronus' wounds and injuries for a whole megacycle until it was time for her to go home.

"There you go. I hope you feel better soon, Megatronus. I have to go home now." Firestar said.

Megatronus grabbed Firestar gently by her hand servo. "Thank you. When can I see you again?" he asked.

"Maybe next time when I return. But I have a lot of patients for me to take care of at the arena. I'll see you when I have the chance to tend to your health." Firestar told her patient.

By the time Firestar went back home from the gladiatorial Pits of Kaon, Megatronus began to feel more emotional than ever. He had never met a fembot as kind, loving, caring, polite, and gentle as that nurse, Firestar. He wanted to see her again, he wanted to get to know her, and he wanted to befriend her. For the first time in his life, Megatronus felt something in his spark that he had not felt in his lifetime. He felt loved by someone who cared for him when he was hurt. Especially after he won a brutal fight against a beast at the arena.

Five years later, Megatronus befriended Orion Pax, became a mentor and brother-figure to him until that one fateful day at the High Council where Megatronus showed his true colors and he demanded to be named the next Prime before Orion Pax shared his version for a just society on Cybertron. When Sentinel Zeta Prime and the High Council chose Orion to be named the next Prime, Megatronus felt betrayed by his own best friend. With his ambitions thwarted, Megatronus who now shortened his name to 'Megatron' cut ties with Orion Pax and the Council. But after he left the building of the High Council, Megatron began to wonder why he was jealous and hateful towards his former friend as his optic color changed from deep blue to crimson red. Megatron began to notice that his appearance was changing a little as he saw his digits becoming more pointy like claws while looking at his own hands in fear and confusion.
