You sigh and storm up to your room. Your mother had told you that you needed to take the makeup off of your face because it 'makes you look like a slut'.
As you walked past Nancy's room, you see she had a full face of makeup and you scoff and roll your eyes. You put the paper towel up to your face then slam it down on your vanity.
You walk downstairs and past your mother who grabbed your arm and turned you to look at her.
"This is not what we agreed on for your makeup." She said while grabbing your chin
"Okay, then tell Nance to take off her makeup." You say pointing to Nancy while keeping your eyes on your mother before you
"There's nothing wrong with Nancy's make up!" She claimed as she gestured towards Nancy's face.
Nancy kept her head down as she poured her a cup of coffee. She always tried to avoid these situations.
"Okay. Whatever, mother." You push past her and walk over to your dad, staring at him.
"What do you want?" He said, his eyes not once leaving his newspaper.
"Does my makeup make me look like a slut?" You asked while taking the newspaper out of his hands
He looks up you and examines your face before sighing and grabbing his newspaper back.
"You don't look like a slut," He said while reading his newspaper
"See? Thank yo-" He cut you off
"You look like a cheap slut. Listen to your mother." He said
You grab your bag and began walking to school. You cried the whole way to school.
You took a shortcut through the woods and stop at the picnic table to cry.
You hear twigs snap and you look over to see a guy walking up to you with bloodshot eyes.
You wipe your eyes quickly and headed towards the school. You look back and see the guy with a cigarette in his mouth as he watched you walk away.
First period, English, was your least favorite class because it goes by so slowly, it always does. 15 minutes into class, you hear the door open causing you to look up from your notes and see a boy stumble in.
"Edward, late again?" Your teacher said as he grabbed a detention slip and handed it to Eddie.
"Always a pleasure, sir." Eddie bowed as he grabbed the slip and walked over to his desk which was right behind you.
Your eyes meet his and they were still bloodshot red. He was high and he wasn't the best at trying to hide it either.
You reach in your bag and grab the small bottle of eyedrops that you carry. You subtly reach your hand back and place it on Eddie's desk.
His eyes shift up to look at you and he grabs the small bottle. He gives you a confused look and you look down at your hands and then up to him
"Your eyes. They're red." You say while fidgeting with the skirt of your cheerleading uniform.
He rests his elbows on his desk and pushes himself to lean against it, getting close to your face. You could smell the stench of weed and his cologne being mixed together.
"Well, so are yours sweetheart." He said while tossing the small bottle on your lap
"Yeah, except I'm not high." You state while placing the bottle back on his desk.
He sighs, grabbing the eyedrops and tilting his head back, while putting the liquid in his eyes.
You watched his every move, the way his fingers held open his eyes and the solution sliding down his cheeks. His Adam's apple becoming more prominent.
