Your eyes slowly open, your vision was blurry so you blink a few times to regain your vision. Once your eyes were focused you look next to you and see Eddie asleep. His hand was rested over his chest and while his other arm wrapped around your waist.
You carefully and slowly get out of bed, getting dressed then walking to the kitchen to see Wayne there with a cup of coffee. You smile as you see him, "Good morning uncle Wayne, how are you this morning?" You say in a chipper tone.
"Oh, good morning pumpkin. I'm doing just fine, how are you?" Wayne asks as before taking a sip of his coffee. You pour yourself a cup of coffee and stand next to him, "I'm so amazing thank you for asking!" You say with a wide smile as you made your coffee to your liking.
"Well, aren't you chipper this morning?" Wayne says as he watches you hum the song Eddie played for you that day he taught you how to play, as you stir your coffee.
"It's just a good day." You say while tossing the spoon your stirred your coffee with in the sink and brought the cup up to your lips.
"Any reason why?" Wayne asks while crossing his arm over his chest and used his other to lift his coffee.
"Your nephew is just amazing." You say with a smile as you walk over to the couch and sit down. Wayne follows behind you and sits down on the empty seat.
"Why is my Eddie boy so amazing to you?" Wayne asks as he lit a cigarette and took a drag of it.
"Eddie does any and everything for me, he cares for me, he loves me, he protects me and I can't even imagine what else he would do for me." You say the. take a sip of your coffee.
"Pumpkin, I know things have been hard for you all this time with arguing with your parents and leaving to live here with Eddie and I but you've grown within these two months." Wayne says.
Everything he had said was true, you did grow from being the way you were before. Eddie and Wayne were there for you more than your own family was. Mike was the only one who seemed to care about the fact that you were gone. Eddie, Wayne and Mike are your only family.
You happily sigh, "It's because of Eddie that I have, Uncle Wayne," You smile while tapping your thumb against the coffee mug, "He brought the best in me. I see that now. I used to be compared to my sister. That's how everyone saw me. They saw me as Nancy Wheeler's sister, not Valerie. But Eddie did."
Wayne smiles while resting his hand under his chin, "Eddie may have helped you along the way, but your growth is all you, pumpkin," He grins, and you raise a brow, "Trust me, when I saw you at that dinner I could see how much you were hurting by being a constant comparison to your sister and by your mother's words. I even saw how Eddie wanted to snap at your mother, but he didn't out of respect for you. I knew right then and there that Eddie loves you, it just took him a moment to realize it. Just like I know now how much you care about him, but it's taking time for you to say it." Wayne took another drag of his cigarette and blew the smoke away from your face.
You go to say something, but nothing escapes your lips, "What- What are you talking about, Uncle Wayne?" You ask while trying to hide the blushing of your cheeks.
Wayne smacks his teeth and let's out a small laugh,"Oh come on Vallie, I may be a single old man, but I know the look of love when I see it. You have a special glint in your eyes when you look at him. When you smile at him, I swear your face is about to crack from how much smiling you do. That, sweet little Vallie, is the look of true love. I see it."
Wayne takes a deep breath and he ashes his cigarette and clears his throat, "Now, I'm no idiot." He says, causing you to furrow your eyebrows and tilt your head at his comment. "I know that you and Eddie are young and hormonal so I've chosen to ignore the aroma of last nights activities. One thing I do know is, you and Eddie have always been comfortable with one another and you two are very much in love so, I will let it slide on the fact that my trailer smells like amateur sex."
You cover your face with your hands and internally scream to yourself. Wayne softly rubs your back while laughing deeply, "I'm teasing you, Val. I had the talk with you two and I know you two are good kids."
Wayne looks at you before putting his cigarette butt out in the ashtray. He takes his hand in yours and looks at you, "Vallie, I know that love comes hard to you because of your parents but I also know that you simply just don't care for love. Well, you didn't care for live until you met my boy."
You swallow the lump in your throat, Wayne had just called you out on all of your bullshit. You take a sip of your coffee before putting the mug down on the table. "Wayne, Eddie is everything to me. I don't- I don't know why he has such an affect on me but he does, I love his smile, his humor, his personality, how much he cares, I love how safe I feel when I'm with him."
Wayne notices the loving glint in your eyes as you talk about Eddie, "Now, why the hell are you telling me about it when you have Eddie to tell." Wayne says as he gestures towards the door.
You smile as you shot your from your seat, running to the room you and Eddie share. You jump on him and he wakes up, startled by your actions, looking around the room in a panic. "Is the trailer on fire?" Eddie says in a panic as he looks at you.
You just laugh and cup his face in your hands, pressing a kiss on his lips. Eddie furrows his eyebrows but kisses back. When you pull away from the kiss, Eddie gives you a confused look. "Vallie, everything okay?" He says while tucking hair behind your ear
"I love you, Eddie." You say with a smile. Eddie's face softens as the words roll off your tongue. A smile spreads across his face. "You love me?" He repeats while cupping your cheek in his hand.
"I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you, Eddie Munson." You repeat as you place kisses all over his face. He pulls you in a tight hug and you melt into his arms.
"Uncle Wayne, she loves me!" Eddie yells out. The sound of Wayne's laugh booms in the living room, "You're welcome shit-head!" Wayne yells before the sound of him closing the trailer tells you and Eddie that he left.
"I love you." Eddie says as he squeezes you as tightly as he could. You giggle and hug him back just as tightly as he did. Eddie presses a kiss on your lips, inhaling as deep as he could to savor the kiss.
"I could tell you I love you all day, every day. It will never lose value to me." Eddie says as he rests his head on your forehead.
