he's not you

You woke up in the comfort of Eddie's arms, just like you used to every morning. You crawl out of bed and make your way into the kitchen before awkwardly seeing Wayne. Wayne didn't make eye contact with nor did he engage in much conversation with you either. You sigh and walk over to him, well, more like stumble since Eddie worked you, and sit next to him on the couch.

"Valerie." Wayne spoke in a straight tone and a blank expression as he avoided eye contact. The awkward tension in the air was the worst thing in the world, all you could hear was the birds chirping and the sound of Wayne sipping rather loudly from his mug of coffee. "Wayne." You reply with the same deadpan stare and tone as he did.

Wayne put his coffee down and placed his face in his hands, "You know, I've done a lot of thing, been through a lot of things, but never have I seen anything remotely like that." Wayne states while finally looking over at you. You scrunch your face and nod your head slowly as he continues his speech, "You know, I thought I was going to come home to my heartbroken nephew like I have been these past two months since whatever the fuck happened between you two that he refuses to tell me, I might add, but no, I come home to you two in whatever position that was!"

You flinch and wince at his tone, visibly embarrassed. Wayne had walked in on you two in a very different position when he unexpectedly came home early from work last night. Nothing was as awkward as hearing Wayne get on Eddie's ass about not locking the door when he has females over. As you sat there with your hands in your lap, fiddling with your fingers. "Wayne?" You softly call for him which caused him to look over at you, "Vallie."

You sadly laugh and rest your head on his shoulder, "I didn't mean to hurt him, I should've heard him out that night. I'm sorry you had to see him the way you did for the past two months." You admit and Wayne sighs, grabbing your hand in his, "Pumpkin, one thing about being in a relationship is that it is never going to be easy. You're both going to make mistakes, you're going to argue and it's going to hurt but you have to figure out a solution together." He tells you as he held your hand tightly in his. You feel a year slide down your cheek and you use your free hand to wipe it away.

Wayne looked at you and smacked his teeth, "Oh, sweet little Vallie, I don't know what went down between the two of you but all I know is that boy there," He begins as he points at Eddie's room, "that
boy loves you with everything in him. I have never, in my twenty-one years of being his uncle, seen him get that choked up about a girl." Wayne reveals as his voice wavers from explaining. When Wayne wraps an arm around you, you can feel the trembling in your body and lips. You couldn't help but cry at his words because you felt exactly that with Eddie as well. After seeing the heartbreak Eddie went through hurt you, but hearing Wayne's words hit you even harder.

You sigh deeply and look at Wayne, "I thought I walked in on Eddie cheating on me with Lisa, so I broke up with him and to get back at him I slept with Billy. I was so hurt that I saw him and her together that I didn't stop for a second and really see things as it was. I jumped the gun and hurt Eddie." You explain and Wayne nods his head.

You wipe your tears and sniffle as Wayne rubs your arm comfortingly. He stands up and leans down to press a kiss on top of your head, "Val, go talk to him, pumpkin, you and him need that more than anything else." Wayne told you as he grabbed his keys and walked to the door, waving goodbye before walking out of the trailer, leaving you there in the living room.

You stand up and walk to Eddie's room to see him sitting his bed, crying into his hands. You quickly make your way over to him and hold him in your arms, "I'm sorry, I wasn't me last night, I didn't meant to be so aggressive with you."

You shake your head and cup his face in your hands making him look at you, "Eddie, no. Last night was amazing and you didn't make me do anything I didn't want to do. You were you, you've always been you when you're with me." You say as you look into his red and glossy eyes. He sighs and nods his head, "I understand why you chose Billy that night." Eddie blurts. You sigh and look down, "Eddie, I may have went with Billy that night but that was because I didn't know the circumstances of what happened that night."

Eddie nodded and inhales deeply, "Do you wish you could go back and change it?" He asked. You think for a minute before taking Eddie's hand in yours and turning your entire attention to him, "Eddie, I don't want to dwell on the past, I want to grow forward, and I'm here with you and not Billy because over time, I just realized that he's not you. He doesn't open my doors, he never made sure I was okay after, he never cuddled me or comforted me in any way other then when he was trying to get into my pants, but most of all, none of it meant anything because I wasn't in love with him like I am with you. Eddie, you could break my heart a million times and I will still always choose you."

Eddie lets a breath of relief out as he engulfs you in his arms, "God, I'm so in love with you Valerie Mae Wheeler." He stated as he pressed multiple kisses on your head. You look up at him and smile widely before leaning up to kiss him. He melts to your kiss and pulls you on top of him as he scooted back on the bed. Your hands tangled in his hair and his cold hands rested on your ass as you grinded against him.

Even though it wasn't the best timing to say this, but you thought the make up sex was even better than any other type of sex you and Eddie had. Eddie treated your body as if it was a delicate flower that needed to be gently taken care of. One thing about you is, you like to be a tease and it makes Eddie throw the whole delicate flower treatment out of the window and stopped making love to you and just plain out fucking you. It never ceased to amaze you each time it happened.

Laying in his arms right after made you feel closer to him. His arms would be wrapped around you, hand tangles in your hair as he smothered you wit kisses. Even after, Eddie still made sure to comfort you if you ever needed him to because he knows how your mind works and how much you tend to overthink the smallest things he does, but it was different this time because now, Eddie was the one who needed the reaasurance from you that everything was okay and that he didn't hurt you or take advantage of you in any way which pains you because each time you cry out during, a small wave of fear runs over his body and he stops completely until you tell him you're okay.

Eddie was trying to be better for you, and quite frankly, you were trying to be better for him because in the long run, Eddie was the one.
