Eddie's POV:

Time slowly creeped to 8:00. All day Vallie and I have been laughing, talking, okay fighting, kissing, and teasing each other.

June had barely left with Vallie 10 minutes ago and I already missed her. Part of Vallie didn't want me to go the her house. She was scared that Mrs. Wheeler would make my experience the worst she possibly could.

I managed to convince her to let me go and that if anything went south I would instantly leave.

It was finally time to head over to the Wheeler household. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

I pull into the driveway, putting my car in park before getting out and walking up to the door.

I knock on the door three times before I hear the doorknob being messed with

The door opens and I'm met face to face with Nancy. I smile sheepishly and rock back and forth on my feet.

"Basement." Was all she said before she turned on her heel and walked up stairs, leaving the front door open.

I sigh and enter the house, already regretting not listening to Vallie when she told me not to come to this.

I take a few steps before I was now stopped in my tracks by a small girl. She slowly looked up at me and I smile because I could see someone of Vallie's features on her face.

"Hi." She said while waving her little hand at me. I smile and kneel down to her level

"Hi, you must be Holly." I say while holding my hand out for her to shake

She slaps my hand multiple times and let small giggles escape her lips.

"Holly, leave you brothers friends alone." A voice said as I hear heels click against the floor

She stops in her tracks and I stand up and look at her. Her expression was unreadable but I could tell she wasn't happy to see me

"Freddie." She says with a fake smile plastered on her face.

Valerie gave me permission to say one mean thing to her mother and I wanted to get it out now before I never get the chance again

"Sharon." I say with the same fake smile

"It's Karen, Karen Wheeler." She corrects my mistake and I smile widely at her

"Eddie, Eddie Munson." I say before attempting to walk away from the encounter

"How is she?" Karen asks as she plays with the ring on her finger

I stop in my tracks and sigh as I turn to look at her. She seems concerned for Val but I could tell she has no remorse for her not being here.

"She's happy. I've never seen her smile as much as she does back at my trailer. I've taken great care of her, in many ways." I say

Karen caught on to what I had said and her face changes. She looks as if she didn't believe a word that came out of my mouth.

"If you'll excuse me, my boys are downstairs." I say before brushing past her and walking down to the basement.

"Dungeon Master is here!" I say as I look and see all of the boys sitting on the couches

"God, don't say that." Steve said as he brought his hand up to his face

"You got Steve to come hang out with us freaks? Wow. Props Wheeler." I say while giving Mike a hug
