Outside of the window, the outside looked bleak- fog in the air and the sky littered with gray clouds. Because he couldn't go outside that day, Eddie lay on the floor coloring in one of his coloring books. Happily, yes. Neatly? No. He had a tendency to scribble outside of the lines.. a lot.. but with the praise from Steve and Robin, you would think he had just created Da Vinci's next masterpiece. He smiled to himself as he tore the page out of the book, pleased with his work.

"Wow Eds, is that a, uh, dog? Or a.. camel?" Steve snickered. "Llama!" Eddie announced, smiling. Thankfully, Eddie was too little to comprehend Steve's teasing. Robin slapped Steve's arm earning a soft "ow".
"It looks great, bud. It's a fantastic llama." Robin complimented. Eddie bit his lip and grinned, giving her a small "fanks!".

As Eddie sorted through his colorings, his eyes fluttered here and there. Robin noticed and asked him, "Are you tired, hon? Do you wanna take a nap?" Eddie nodded and rubbed his eyes. "sleepy..", he mumbled into Steve's shoulder as he picked him up and began carrying him to the bedroom. Thankfully, Eddie was too tired to put up a fuss.

The soft sound of rain could be heard falling down onto the bedroom window. "Alright kiddo, let's get you into bed." Steve said, setting Eddie down. Steve laid the blanket down on Eddie, tucking him in. "Can't forget Ellie," Steve said, handing Eddie his favorite plushie, a cute stuffed elephant. Eddie grabbed it happily and cuddled into it. And lastly, Steve picked up a black pacifier from the nightstand and brought it to the little's lips. He accepted it into his mouth before his eyes fluttered shut, quickly drifting off to sleep.
"Alright, goodnight kiddo." Steve said, smiling before heading out and quietly shutting the door, not forgetting to leave the bedside lamp on. Little Eddie gets scared.

Only fifteen minutes later, Eds awoke to the loud sound of a sudden, harsh crack. He groggily opened his eyes to find that the room was almost entirely dark, aside from the little daylight coming from the window. The lamp had gone out, too. Reasonably, any person would conclude that the storm had caused a power outage. However, little Eddie could not understand. Just then, he was met with the sound of a loud, low rumbling outside. Thunder. If there's one thing little Eddie is scared of, it's thunderstorms. And sharks. And clowns, heights, the dark..

But anywho; needless to say, Eddie was frightened. He flinched at the noise and squeezed his eyes shut, cowering under his blanket. The thunder continued to rumble outside and the rain poured against the window. He could only imagine that it was the roar of scary monsters outside coming to get him. Sure, he could fight them off in D&D, but little Ed was no match for the storm monsters.

Just then, lightning struck nearby with a loud boom, close enough for Eddie to see a flash outside of the window. His heart jumped. He yelped at the sudden noise and his breathing became uneven from the scare, his eyes began to well up with tears. Typically, adult Eddie is very eccentric and outspoken, however, little Eds is quite the opposite. He's shy, and only ever spoke a few words at a time if he had to. He never yelled and was rather mellow. Eddie's littlespace served as an outlet to take a break from all of the "normal Eddie" things and relax.

So, Eddie didn't think to call for help, especially so the monsters wouldn't be drawn to him. He curled under his blanket as tears dropped from his eyes. Thankfully, Steve and Robin were excellent caregivers and were alerted by Eddie's cry. Eddie heard the door open and he jumped up worriedly, checking who had entered.

No monsters, just Steve and Robin. Seeing Eddie cry saddened them, and they sat down beside him. "What's wrong, Eds?" Robin asked, wrapping an arm around Eddie.
"monsters.." he cried softly, looking outside of the window. Robin followed his eyes.
"Oh, pumpkin, do you mean the storm?" Robin asked. Eddie responded with a small nod.
"Don't worry, Eds. I promise there aren't any monsters. It's just a small storm, it'll pass soon." Robin reassured him, "Besides, you're always safe inside with us." The lamp and house lights flickered back on, having Eddie release a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "See? The lights are back on. No monsters."

Eddie wiped his tears away and smiled, looking down. He was so grateful to have Robin and Steve.
Steve stood up and added, "Yeah, and if any monsters try to get you, I'll kick their ass! I mean, butts, yeah I'll kick their-"
Steve paused as he saw Eddie trying to stifle a giggle.
"Mister, are you laughing at me?" Steve asked with ridiculously wide eyes, pretending to be cross. Eddie couldn't hold it anymore and burst out laughing.
"What am I gonna do with this kid..?" Steve shook his head, ruffling Eddie's hair.
"Movie?" Eds suggested, looking at both of them for the "okay". Robin nodded.
"Sounds good, peanut." she said, picking up Eddie and leading all of them to the living room.
