Eddie sat on the floor of the living room, smashing his action figures together. "Rahhh! Fight!" he exclaimed, finding joy as he waved them around. Loud clacking filled the room, and could be faintly heard from where Steve sat, just a room away. He sat at a desk, brows furrowed, tapping his pencil against it. He was working on a school assignment, undoubtedly. Meanwhile, Eddie continued playing with his toys, raising his superhero figurine, about to bring it down onto the other. However, he stopped abruptly, lowering the figures to the ground.

He felt a sudden wetness in his pants. Nervously, he looked down to see that he had indeed wet them. He covered himself before looking around frantically. Realizing he was unsupervised, he stood up, stumbling slightly. He scanned the room, thinking of anything he could do to hide it, but no luck. He began whimpering. Steve found it strange that the "fighting" noises had died down, so just to be safe, he decided to go check on Eddie. He dropped his assignment and left the room, heading towards the living room. He looked at Eddie. "Eddie? What's.." Steve trailed off, looking down at the stain on Eddie's pants. "Oh, brother.." Steve mumbled to himself as a sheepish Eddie tried to shrink away as much as possible.

Eddie began to sniffle and cry at the embarrassment, refusing to make eye contact with Steve.
"Oh- Eds, it's fine, you're fine. We'll get you out of these clothes and clean in no time!" he reassured him, taking his hand and leading him into the bathroom. He sat Eddie down on the lid of the toilet, heading out to get a change of clothes for Eddie. When he came back, he saw that Eddie was still crying, maybe even harder. Steve cooed sympathetically.
"Aww, Eds." he said, tucking Eddie's hair behind his ear. "It's okay, accidents happen. And even big boys have accidents, it's nothing to get worked up over. You got that?" Steve held Eddie's chin up to look him in the eyes.

Eddie reduced to sniffles and nodded through his tears.
"Okay, good. Now, you have to change these yucky clothes. Do you need help or can you do it by yourself?" Steve asked him.
"Um.. um, help please." Eddie answered shyly. Steve obliged, standing the boy up. Quickly, Eddie got changed out of his old clothes, currently wearing only a baggy t-shirt that covered most of his body.
"Now, we have to put this on you, okay?" Steve said, raising his eyebrows at Eddie and holding a pull-up. Eddie's eyes widened ever so slightly, his face flushing in embarrassment. Wearing a diaper seemed so.. infantile. Embarrassing. "I know, bud," Steve said, noting Eddie's expression, "but you need to wear it so we don't have another accident." he explained.

"No." Eddie pouted, backing away. Steve inched towards him. "C'mon, Eds, it's just-"
"No!" Eddie yelled, pushing past Steve and slamming the door on his way out. Steve pursed his lips and exhaled, exiting the bathroom to search for Eddie. "Eddie?" he called out, scanning the living room for any sign of the boy. "Eds?" No luck. He checked around the kitchen counters, behind the couch, even under the bed, but Eddie was nowhere to be found. Defeatedly, he trudged back to the bathroom, sitting on the edge of the sink and sighing. However, Steve froze at the faint sound of crying. Leaning in to listen closer, it seemed to be coming from the other side of the wall.

His head raised slightly. "That's.. where the closet is..?"
He quickly hopped off the sink, entering the bedroom. As his keen senses told him, the noise has gotten louder. Steve slowly approached the closet, pulling the door open. Surely enough, a crying Eddie sat curled up in the corner.
"Aw- Eddie, what are you doing? It's so dark in here!" Steve exclaimed, examining the closet. Eddie just sniffled, wiping his nose. Steve sympathized with Eddie seeing him so upset. He kneeled down, putting a hand on Eddie's shoulder, causing the boy to look up.
"Eddie," he said, "what's making you so upset?" Though Steve knew why, he thought it would be better for Eddie to acknowledge his own feelings.

"Don't wanna wear it." Eddie pouted, looking down.
"Why not?" Steve asked curiously. Eddie looked up at him. "Because. Is' for babies." he frowned, his face burning with shame again.
"But Eds, don't you think you need it?" Steve asked
hopefully. Eddie only frowned back, not speaking. Though he didn't talk, it told Steve all he needed to know. "Yeah, if you don't wear it, you'll have another accident, right?"
Eddie nodded slowly, taking in Steve's words.
"So," Steve continued, "you can risk an accident or wear it and be clean. Which one of those do you want?" he asked, grabbing Eddie's hand.

"mm.. clean.." Eddie gave in, letting Steve help him up. He trudged back to the bathroom solemnly.
"Thank you for being such a good boy." Steve praised him as he helped him dress into the pull-up.
"M' good?" Eddie asked, his eyes lighting up ever so slightly.
"Yes, buddy." Steve said, picking up Eddie and resting him on his hip. He planted a quick peck on Eddie's forehead. "You're the best."
