It was nearing the time of the carnival, and everyone was getting ready. Alex had gone home earlier on, giving him chance to shower and get ready and so on. Emma and Dylan were already downstairs, ready and good to go. But Norma was still getting ready, trying to chose something to wear. She'd already tried on about 5 different things and changed her mind.

Emma came upstairs, noticing that it was getting closer to the time they planned to leave. She knocked on Norma's door, not wanting to just walk straight in in case she was in the middle of getting dressed. "Norma? Alex will be here soon, are you good to go?"

"Crap." Norma smacked her forehead, looking between the different options she had out. "Just a minute!"

"Are you okay in there?" Emma raised an eyebrow. "Can I come in?"

"Sure, come on in" Norma said, stressfully running a hand through her hair. You'd swear she'd been asked to chose a limb to cut off, never mind an outfit to wear.

"Outfit troubles. I see." Emma said, tilting her head and looking at the choices laid out. After a moment of contemplating, she pointed out a casual flowery dress. "I like this one."

"Ehhh." Norma thought, looking at it. "I don't have a coat that goes with that one." The dress was fairly new, she only worn it once or twice.

"Oh you'll be fine, it's not even cold...trust me." Emma smiled, lifting the dress up by Norma and giving a nod of approval.

"Okay, this one it is. If I freeze to death, I'm blaming you." Norma pointed at her and winked.

"Believe me, if it gets cold I'm pretty sure I'll freeze to death too, so you can get your revenge." Emma laughed, walking out to allow Norma to continue getting ready.

Norma slid the dress on, applying her makeup and touching up her hair. The choosing what to wear process always took a lot longer than actually getting ready for her, so she was soon ready in no time.

And it was a good job, because at that moment she heard a knock on the door. "That'll be Alex...I'll get it!" she frowned as she saw Norman standing at the door as if he was going to answer. "Hey, no, shoo! Shoo, shoo!" Norma said, making a gesture with her hands for him to move away.

Norman reluctantly stepped out of the way of the door, taking in her appearance as he did so. "Is that what you're wearing?"

"Yes, Norman, that's why I have it on." Norma said, raising her eyebrows. "Why, what's wrong with it?" She asked consciously, looking down at herself.

"I just thought you might have worn your blue and white dress, you know the one I like.." Norman said with a small smile.

"Well you know what, I felt like a change." Norma said with an almost sarcastic smile, opening the door. "Alex, hey!" she said with a wide smile.

Alex stood by the door, hands in his pockets as he waited for her to answer. As the door opened, he looked up and smiled slightly. "Hey..." he stood there, trying not to make it obvious that he was looking at her. She looked stunning as usual. "Are you, uhh, are you ready?"

Norman looked at Norma, then at Alex. "Where are you going?"

"We're going to the carnival, Norman. With Dylan and Emma. Like I told you earlier, remember?" Norma looked at him with a frown.

"Right. And I need to stay here and look after the motel. Because I'm the manager and I need to go manage." Norman said, remembering Norma's words from before.

"Exactly. You got it!" Norma smiled, patting his chest. "Okay, you can call me if you need anything....we'll be gone a couple hours." she leaned over to kiss his cheek, giving him a one armed hug. "See you later."
