When Alex came into the house to find everyone, he wasn't expecting Norma and Emma to be where they were. They were curled up on the couch, blanket sprawled over them, fast asleep with the TV still on. He initially thought her and Emma would've either turned the movie off and gone to bed after it, or just not slept at all, but it seemed they'd fallen asleep half way through. It was getting quite late, so he thought it'd be best to wake them. He quietly walked over to them, speaking softly. Although he needed to get them up, he didn't want to wake them up too harshly and startle them. "Norma?" he watched her, getting no reaction. "Emma." he whispered, again getting no reaction. He sighed, reaching forward and gently shaking Norma's shoulder. "Norma..?"

Norma began to wake up when she felt the gentle shake on her shoulder, stirring. She opened her eyes slowly, squinting. "Ugghhh."

"I think I prefer your good nights to your good mornings." he raised an eyebrow, remembering the kiss from the night before.

"Relax, i'm not groaning at you. I have a broken leg, the sofa isn't exactly the best sleeping destination...pretty sure my leg is dead." she grimaced, taking the blanket off her and putting it back over Emma as she stood up. She stretched her leg out slightly, her hand immediately clutching his shoulder for balance.

"Why sleep there then? You know there's this thing called a bed.." he said, a teasing tone to his voice.

"As you well know, I obviously fell asleep. Don't try and be a smartass." she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Lighten up, i'm messing with you." he rolled his eyes, grabbing her crutches for her and handing them to her.

"Yes, I know." she shook her head, smirking. "I need to go take a painkiller, you can go wait at the office if you want."

Norma made her way into the kitchen to get her painkillers, and when she walked inside she saw Norman sitting at the table. She took a deep breath, trying to keep in her anger. "It's nice of you to make an appearance today." she said calmly, reaching into the cupboard to pull out a glass and her pills.

Norman seemed to look confused by her comment, and Norma just rolled her eyes.

"I broke my leg, I didn't lose my sight. You weren't here yesterday. Why?" she filled her glass with water, taking the pill along with a sip of the water.

"I'm sorry, mother...I was...I was out." he nodded.

"Out where? With who?" she asked suspiciously.

"...Emma.."

"Nope, lie, she was here with me." she folded her arms.

"I just met a friend, that's all. Am I not allowed friends?"

A friend, really? Norman didn't have friends. No, he was hiding something. "You crashed my freaking car Norman, I was in hospital for 2 nights, I at least thought that you would--"

Norman interrupted, shocked and confused at Norma's words. "Crashed your car? Mother, why on earth would I crash your car? The crash was an accident."

Norma blinked, staring at him. Honestly, she didn't know what else she was expecting. Of course he had a blackout, so he wasn't going to remember. "That's...what I meant." she frowned. "Look--I just, I would've thought that after us having a car crash, and me being in hospital for two nights...you'd have been here to welcome me back? But you weren't." she shrugged, putting the glass and packet of pills back. "But you know what it's fine, it's good." she held her hands up. "You just...keep on sneaking off, keeping secrets from me." she grabbed the cereal box he'd got out, shoving it back in the cupboard and leaving the room in a temper.
