The working day seemed to go on forever. Norma had all this paperwork to do, then there was room cleaning and ordering new furniture and supplies online. She had a lot to do, but at least with Alex around to help some of the pressure was taken off. When it was finally time to finish up, Norma looked around for Alex. She had been excited for this date of theirs all day. When she eventually found him, she noticed he was putting fresh bedsheets on the bed of one of the rooms. She walked up behind him, squeezing his shoulders lightly. "You know you can finish now right?"

"Yeah well, i'm not gonna leave the job half done...i'll be with you in a minute alright? Go get ready" Alex said, smoothing over the duvet cover.

"You better not be long, it's rude to keep a lady waiting you know" She smirked, kissing his cheek and walking over to the door. She pushed it open with her elbow, quickly making her way out of the room before the door closed on her. Although she was slowly starting to get used to it, walking with these crutches was hard. Especially without help, which slowly but surely she was starting to welcome. She realized now that some things were impossible to do by herself. Using the crutches took a lot of upper body strength, and it certainly wasn't comfortable for her arms which weren't her strongest point. Honestly, she still couldn't believe she was going on a date on crutches and in a cast. The men she'd been with in the past probably would've laughed at the thought of that. 'You aren't going to wear that dress are you Norma?', 'Why are you so overdressed?', 'You don't want to look tacky, do you?'. Pretty much every man she'd been out with has made her uncomfortable with herself at some point. They made her doubt herself, and make her paranoid about how she looked. That's why she was so hesitant to go on dates now, because every time a guy would look at her in a certain way she'd always be second guessing what they're thinking. But with Alex, she never had that problem. For the first time in a long time, she felt completely comfortable with him. Although of course, this didn't mean she was going to turn up in sweatpants and a hoodie or something. Oh no. She still wanted to look good. This was a date after all, with a man she so happened to really like. She made her way upstairs, opening up her wardrobe and tapping her chin. "Jeez I really need new clothes--" she shook her head, sighing. At first she picked up a blue flowery dress, but once she remembered its significance a look of disgust crossed her face. That was the dress she wore on her 'date' with Deputy Shelby. Ugh. Even the simple mention of that creep made her skin crawl. All that time she trusted him, kissed him, slept with him even...he was in the sex slave business. He had that girl locked up in his basement. He was one of the reasons she had so little faith in men. She still remembered the things he said to her, calling her a lying bitch, punching her. He made her feel worthless. She shook away her thoughts, immediately putting the dress back. Eventually able to make a decision, she pulled out a black dress. It had three quarter length sleeves, a belt in the middle and a v-neck that she knew showed off a classy amount of cleavage. The top part was quite fitting, but the bottom half came out like a skater-skirt type so it would be comfortable for her. She slid the dress on, pulling it down straight. She took a quick look in the mirror and nodded, smoothing the material over slightly. Once she'd done her makeup; simple and natural as always, and her hair, she picked up her crutches once again and made her way downstairs. Stairs were her worse nightmare right now. It took effort just to go down one step, never mind the whole flight of stairs. She was about to leave the house thinking Alex might be outside waiting, but she spotted him in the living room in the corner of her eye. "Oh you're there!" she chuckled.

Alex had gone upstairs to get changed, although obviously he was a lot quicker than Norma was so he'd been waiting for quite a bit. He caught a small glance of her when she got down the stairs, but it was only when he got up and walked over that he could clearly see how truly beautiful she looked. "I...uh..." he cleared his throat. "Are you sure that's what you want to wear?"
