I'd always loved skateboarding.
I'd learned from a young age, when Ryan taught me when I was about 7 and unstereotypically, I picked it up easily and was always going to the skatepark with ny older brother and his teenage friends.
It was my other escape from all the negatives in the world, apart from music, of course.
I was never into pretty pink girly stuff as a kid. I'd much rather be climbing a tree and making mudpies than making friendship bracelets and playing with barbie dolls. I never really cared about my hair and clothes, if they got dirty it was a 'oh well!'. They say that dirt is just a sign if how much fun a child is having. Well that's 100% true.
The time passed by and I started caring more about my image and personality, trying to fit in with the crowd. My anxiety grew so I thought more and more about fitting in.
The football boots turned into petite ballet pumps, baggy tshirts from charity shops turned into tight fitted dresses from Next, the mud was no longer saw and I was now covered in makeup, the fun, well that disappeared all together.
Being around people who accept you for you is the best feeling ever. You feel like a unguilty prisoner being finally set free.
So once in a while, I changed into baggy clothing, didn't care about makeup or getting my knees scuffed and had some fun again.
Don't let anyone or anything mould you into being something your not. Be yourself and be unique, do what makes you happy. Don't try to fit in the crowd, cos its boring if everyones the same, liven everything up a bit. :)
