Walking inside your house you see mom looking frantic on the phone.

"I don't know officer! She stayed home from school today with a stomach ache" she tells the officer on the phone. "I'm scared someone kidnapped her!"

"Mom?" You stare at your mom for a moment then laugh "I'm not kidnapped or anything. I just went for some fresh air"

She drops the phone and runs to hug you "Why on earth did you leave the house? You're sick!"

"Mom it was just a stomach ache I felt fine after a nap I'm sorry for scaring you. Why are you home so early?" You ask.

Mom lets you go and let's go a sigh of relief before telling you she quit her job. "I couldn't take working doubles anymore while my babies are always home alone. I need to take care of you both but I can't do that." "I told my boss either cut my hours or I quit" so I quit!

"Mom you didn't have to do that" You tell her. "I'm 17 almost 18 and Dustin is old enough to take care of himself. We aren't babies anymore" I love my mom but sometimes I wish she was like Karen or Joyce they don't really go all coco for Cocoa Puffs like my mom does. I know she means well Dustin and I are the only ones she has left. After dad left when you was 9 years old things changed. Mom became more frantic and crazy with all the babying but you and Dustin took care of each other.

"What are we gonna do now mom?" You ask scared to know the answer. "Someone is gonna have to get a job and pay all the bills."

Mom walks to the living room grabs the newspaper and hands it to you. "I was thinking you find a job" You look at her confused and kinda mad that she's telling you to find a job. You take the newspaper from her angrily and sit on the table.

After Starcourt burning down this summer you were afraid to get another job tbh. You loved working at Scoops Ahoy with Robin and Steve I mean who wouldn't all that free ice cream and watching Steve get turned down by every girl he hit on was fun and funny.

You look threw the newspaper and see NOW HIRING PART TIME FAMILY VIDEO! written in big letters. Isn't that where Robin and Steve now work? You could work with them again if you wanted to.
