Chapter 17: The attack

Months have massed since Dream started to train Phil's army. And everyone day for the past few months Dream as taught the army, most time Dream was accompanied by Techno who would bring a book to read while they trained.

They'd train day in and day not trying to perfect there every move and Dream would guide them, demonstrating when it went wrong and they needed to see it again. The more times passed the more the soldiers looked up to Dream.

At first, just under seven years ago when only a hand full meet Dream they thought he was some stuck up person who took what he wanted when he wanted it. They all thought he just walked up with no idea what he was doing. But Dream showed them almost seven years ago that he defiantly knew what he was doing when it came to fighting.

Most of the army's thoughts where that Dream was a bad person as they thought Dream was trying to kill their Prince who was going to be king soon. But it was all a miss understanding and Dream and Techno where just having a friendly spar.

Even though the training was hellish the soldiers looked forward to it loving the way Dream came up with ways to train them that made them learn faster. Some where Visual learners so Dream would demonstrate as many times as they needed. Other where better from learning from experience which is why they did the group team monster and defenders exercises.

Sometimes if they where lucky and did well they'd get to see Dream and Techno spar and that was the best part so I made them want to try harder to see the spars between the two.

When the two spared it seemed like they where the only two in the world and no one else mattered. They're spars always looked almost like a dance with death and if you didn't know what you where doing you'd definitely die in there spar. When there swords clashed spars flew off there swords from the pressure.

And today was going how every day usually goes. The soldiers headed to the training field talking among themselves happily laughing and joking as they went.

They arrived to the training field to see Dream waiting for them talking to Techno. When the soldiers came into view Techno left to sit on his usual bench to read his book. Which book he read they'll never know.

Dream turned to face them really to start the lesson until they heard a loud explosion. They all turned to face it but Dream groaned slightly. "Sir!" A soldier shouted running up to Dream hearing him groan. "Are you alright?" Techno asked having ran over when the explosion went off.

Dream shook his head trying to clear his mind. "This is not a drill. Where under attack!" Dream shouted taking charge. The soldiers stood to attention at that waiting for Dreams orders.

"I'll buy you all sometime to get ready for battle" Dream told them. "I want you to get your weapons and get into your armour. Then form into groups with some horse men, archers and swords men then I want a few teams to head to the town and secure it and keep the towns people save. I was two teams to head to the castle and tell the king and keep him and the others save. The remaining teams I'll meet you at the gates!" Dream yelled his commands out fast as they soldiers rushed of to do as they where told.

Techno turned to Dream. "How are you going to buy them time?"he asked Dream who seemed to be trying to concentrate. "I'm going to enforce the shield more so it can withstand more before it calypsos" Dream explained while putting more of his magic into the shield bubble.

Techno nodded remaining silent knowing Dream had to concentrate. Minutes passed and Dream  began to move. "I have to go to the gates. Got back to the castle" he told Techno how jogged to catch up to Dream. "Yeah not going to happen I'm staying with you" Techno said running alone side Dream who began to run through the town heading towards the gates.

"Techno your family need you. You can protect them and help Phil lead the army you know more about the army's training than Phil they'll need you" Dream told Techno trying to get him to see reason. As much as Techno wanted to disagree and stay with Dream and fight along side him he know Dreams as right. He was needed in the castle. That was the best place for him to be now.

"Fine" Techno said in defeat. "Promise me you'll try to stay safe" he asked Dream wanting him to promise before he left to the castle. Dream nodded "and you" he said before speeding up leaving Techno who sighed before running to the castle.

Techno entered the castle going straight to the throne room knowing that's where Phil and the others will be.

He opened the double doors to see Phil sat in his throne shouting orders as people running around to carry the orders out. "Techno!" Phil shouted once seeing Techno enter.

Techno walked up towards Phil. "Do you know what's going on?" Phil asked Techno who nodded. "Yes where under attack by the monsters. Dream enforced the shield for know and gave orders to protect the town and some of the soldiers along with himself have headed to the gates to engage the enemy's" Techno told Phil who took in all the information.

"He makes a good leader" Phil commented looking out the window to see the shield bubble more visible now. 'Much be because Dreams enforce it' Phil thought.

"Send word out to the other kingdoms that the war has started!" Phil yelled out to one of the group of soldiers Dream had sent. Someone nodded running off to send a crow to the other kingdoms.

Dream arrived at the gates to see what was happening. "Dream sir!" A soldier shouted coming next to Dream, he was swords men Dream thought absently.

"We are all prepared to intersect the enemy" he told Dream who nodded. "Alright, all horse men on you horses to the front! Archers stay within the shield for now and shot from here! Swords men when the horses charge forward charge!" Dream commanded as the soldiers got into positions.

As Dream was getting ready to give the signal to charge, Raven his horse came over to him nudging him. "Alright Raven thank you" Dream thanked Raven getting on his black horse.

Dream headed to the front of the army he was commanding. Dream turned Raven to face the army. "We made a stand and we make it here. They'll never take Antarctica. For Antarctica, for humanity!" Dream yelled raising his unusual black sword with green and purple hints into the air as the light bounced off of it.

"For Antarctica, for humanity!" The army shouted back all raising there weapons ready to fight and lay down there lives for Antarctica and humanity.

Dream turned back around to face the bubble then Raven began to gallop dashing straight into the army of monsters and the monsters army was a lot bigger than there but Dream charged without any fear.

They others followed Dream doing exactly as he told them.

Dream began killing off the different types of monsters. The monsters that seemed to be in this attack will mostly nether monsters, such as blaze, zombie piglins other types of piglins and gasts. While there was still the basic monsters as well like skeletons, zombies and creepers along with a few spiders.

The gasts and blazes that where too high for the cavalry and foot soldiers to get the archers shot them from the sky.

Dream looked around the battle field and saw a group of his soldiers getting cornered. So he jumped off of Raven as he rode past and kill the monsters surrounding the group, saving them.

The battle was hard and long but as there numbers dropped so did the monsters. Finally all the monsters where dead and they still had a decent amount of soldiers left thanks to Dream who lead them to victory and tried to save as many as possible.

This was the first attack that had started the war for humanity and Dream was determined to win. And nothing was going to stop him, not even him.
