Chapter 18: To war

Dream walked through the castle halls with meaning, making his way to the throne room. He'd just finished winning the battle of the shield front.

Dream and the army he trained whipped out the monsters army that was way over twice the size of Dreams army. But they won because of Dreams smart planning and quick thinking. The army would have lost and Antarctica would have been lost if not for Dreams training. They lost many during this battle but those who died didn't die in vain, because of those brave soldiers they won and saved Antarctica.

Dream threw the doors to the throne room open to see a big wooden table that had been dragged in covered in paper of plans and other things. Dream saw Phil and Techno lent over the table trying to plan and every now and then they'd shout a command for the few people in the room to follow.

When Dream entered Phil and Techno stoped and looked up at him. "Report!" Phil commanded strongly.

Dream stood up taller as he got ready to explain what happened. "I felt the attack when the monster army tried to break the shield. I thought quietly and commended the soldiers on what to do" he explained with his arms crossed behind his back.

"The monsters army was more then twice the size of ours. But we where still victorious" Dream told Phil and Techno who let out a sigh of relief.

"How many died on our side?" Techno asked still looking at Dream, looking him up and down in away no one could tell he was doing it, he was looking Dream up and down checking him for wounds.

There was blood and Dreams clothes where ripped a bit and where some of the blood laid on Dreams clothes seemed to get darker indicating that Dream was in fact, hurt.

"About half the army" Dream told the king and his son looking down in shame. He really did try to save as many as possible. But they still lost so many even with his plan.

Phil saw this "you did well Dream. That fight was once that seemed impossible of winning but you managed to do it, and with minimal losses" he told Dream who lifted his head looking back at Phil.

That's when Dream remembered something else. "Oh the other Kingdoms where attacked at the same time. Though they should have been fine I strengthened there shields just like I did with ours" he told Phil who nodded.

"Send a crow to each kingdom with the following message! I, King Phil of Antarctica declare that the war for humanity has begun. And we will not bow down to these monsters. Well stand strong and not back down and win this war. We much all come together for this war as if we where to fight it on our own we'd for certain loss" Phil shouted as people ran around the room writing what Phil told them and rushing out to send the message to the other kingdoms.

Phil turned back to Dream. "Are you alright?" He asked Dream knowing that it tires Dream out to use so much of his magic as well the fact Dream just fought in a battle that could be classed as a war.

Dream hummed looking up at Phil "yeah I'm alright" he told Phil who nodded turning back to the many papers laid out on the big wooden table.

Techno scoffed walking forward, towards Dream. "Yeah right. Your total not bleeding" he said stoping in front of Dream before kneeling down and looking at Dreams wound.

"Didn't I tell you to be careful" Techno comment lifting Dreams hoodie slight to see Dreams wound that was still bleeding. It was quite deep.

"Well I was" Dream retaliated crossing his arms as Techno pulled out some medical things he'd gotten before Dream came back wanting to be prepared in case Dream did actually get hurt.

"How it even happened?" Techno asked as he applied pressure with a gauze trying to stop the bleeding.

Dream rubbed the back of his head sheepishly "well I shoved a young scared soldiers out of the way of a sword" he told Techno who just sighed shaking his head. Of course Dream only had a major injury because he save a life.

They fell into silence as Techno wrapped up Dreams wound making sure that the bleeding would stop.

Phil looked at the map on the wooden table in front of him, tapping his chin in thought.

On the map where locations circled of where the around about beams come from along with points the monsters have attacked trying to find a link. 'Where are you all coming from? Where is you base?' Phil thought looking at the map but he couldn't seem to find what he was looking for even though he's been looking at this map for hours.

Phil let out a frustrated sigh rubbing his temples, the stress getting to him. Giving up Phil looked to Dream, Techno stood back up straight once Dreams wound was wrapped.

Deciding that Dream might be able to figure it out Phil called out to Dream. "Dream do you think you could look at his map for me?" He asked.

Dream nodded walking towards Phil who was still stood. Techno looked at Phil slightly angry because Dream clearly needed rest. I mean the man just fought in a war while strengthening all the kingdoms shields and was wounded. But his father wanted to keep Dream working.

Dream looked at the map stood next to Phil. "What am I looking for?" Dream asked.

"Do you think you could find the monsters base?" Phil asked turning his head to look at Dream.

Dream looked back at the map rubbing his head. "Yes I can it'll take a while but it's possible" he told Phil who sighed as fell back into a chair exhausted. Dream watched Phil from he corner of his eye as the king looked tired and stressed.

Techno sat in a chair next to Phil while stifling a yawn. Dream smiled slight "why don't you two try and get some sleep while I tried to locate there base of operations?" He asked receiving a nod from Phil who's eyes where already closed as he let sleep take over him.

"What about you?" Techno asked tiredly almost asleep. "I'll be fine Tech. But you on the other hand I'm not so sure" Dream said looking at Techno slightly amused.

Techno wanted to argue but Dream was right as time passed it was getting harder and harder to stay awake. His eyelids getting heavier. "Sleep well Tech" was the last thing he heard as his eyelids fell close as sleep took over him.

Dream looked at Techno and Phil who both had now fallen asleep in chair near the table. He looked out the window to see the moon hight in the star filled night sky.

Dream walked away from the table towards Techno. He took Technos cloak off of him making sure to be quiet and careful not to wake up the sleeping pink haired man.

Dream took the cloak and put it over Techno like a blanket as the throne rooms temperature dropped.

Dream looked towards Phil who seemed to be fine even with the drop in temperature. But just to be save Dream walked over to Phil's throne that had a small blanket on it. Dream picked it up before making his way back other to Phil laying the blanket on Phil.

Dream walked back other to the big wooden table where the map laid on it. He picked up a pen that laid near it as he ran his other hand over the map.

Hours passed till Dream managed to figure out where the monsters base could be. But Dream was sure it was there. 'There' Dream thought tapping where on the map the monsters base should be. 'So that's where you are' Dream put an x mark where the monsters base was. The base was between two mountains to the far west.

'Looks like I'll be fighting you soon' Dream thought as he sat in an empty chair letting sleep take him. 'And I refuse to let you win'
