Chapter 16: Training

Techno sat on the bench reading his book as Dream watched the soldiers spar. Every now and then Dream would have to spar a sparing pair to correct there mistakes apart from that it was going well.

After Dream had a gist of there skills he stoped them and got them to gather around.

"Alright now that I know your fighting levels I'm going to test you knowledge on the different types of monsters" Dream told them.

"What's the best way to deal with a zombie?" Dream asked looking at the group of soldiers. "Keep your distance and the baby ones are fast" one replied.

"Good" Dream congratulated. "Now who go you deal with a creeper?"

"Keep you distance and if you have a bow use it. If not hit it then back up and repeat till it's dead"
Someone else from the group of soldiers replied.

This continued for awhile but the didn't know most of the monsters names how that look or there weakness or strengths. Which Dream found a bit concerning considering those monsters aren't self-explanatory or easy to kill.

Dream sighed running a hand through his hair after he just spent two hours explaining the difference types of monsters, there strengths and weaknesses. It was a long but needed task. It took awhile but the soldiers got it eventually. Dream decided that he'd pick on someone every now and then as ask them a question, whether it be the strength and weaknesses of a monster or the name of the monsters with the name abilities.

Dream told them to get get back in groups of twos and start practicing the best way to kill a zombie. Once Dream was confident that they could do that he'd move on. And every once in a awhile he'd make sure to shout a pass learnt one to see if they here retaining the information.

Dream began to walk around helping some of the soldiers with knew ways or techniques that can be used against zombies.

Dream was helping a soldier that just couldn't get his stance right when he heard Techno yell for him. "Dream!" Not knowing why Techno was calling him Dream corrected the man's stance before excusing himself and heading over to where Techno sat with his book.

"What's the matter Techno?" Dream asked once he was close enough to Techno. Techno crossed his arms. "Oh I don't know maybe the fact that you haven't eaten yet today and since you got up all you've done is move around" he said looking at Dream.

Dream rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Sorry kinda forgot and beside you know I won't eat here with the soldiers this close" he told Techno looking away slightly.

Techno sighed "I know that Dream. So why don't you turn around keep your hood up and eat your apple I'll make sure no one comes close?" He asked Dream. Dream thought about it for a moment before nodding. Techno handed Dream his apple, Dream took it and turned around taking his mask of and beginning to eat the apple.

Techno put his book down as he watched the soldiers train. He's never seen them so coordinated and determined. "Everything seems to be going well so far" Techno commented.

Dream sighed quietly "yes it is but they still have a lot to learn and time might not be on our side" Dream replied staring off into the distance.

Techno hummed "then we make the best of the time we have and train them" he told Dream watching as the soldiers helped each other out. It was a much different environment than when he trained them. It was a better environment more controlled and they all seemed ready to help each other.

Dream put his while smiley mask back on before standing up. "Then I guess they'll hate me" he said to Techno as he walked off back other to the soldiers. Techno looked to the soldiers 'poor unfortunate unexacting souls. I've just awoken the sleeping demon' he thought laughing slightly at the soldiers misfortune.

Dream marched back over to the soldiers. The soldiers stoped as they saw Dream approach, something told them that there training was about to become hell on earth. And they where prepared to face the training and determined to put there all into it.

"Now get into groups of ten and do teams of five once you've all done that I'll tell you why" Dream told them watching as the soldiers rushed to get into groups and then teams of five.

"Now I'm going to tell you who in your group are going to play monsters and which are going to defeat them. The teams name monsters will act like different type of monsters testing both you knowledge of the monsters as well as the team trying to defeat them with there knowledge" Dream explained to the soldiers who under stood and as Dream started giving the teams they began to spar.

Dream walked around helping by correcting stances or reminding them of how to defeat a certain monster. Dream watched them as they made less and less mistakes but Dream began to improve there stance and stoping certain groups to teach them a different fighting move that could be useful.

After awhile of this Dream shouted "switch!" And the teams switched rolls. The monsters becoming defenders and the defenders becoming different types of monsters. It was an affective exercise. It drilled into there heads about the different monsters and let them try to come up with there own ways to defeat them in a safe environment.

Techno continue to watch not seeing the needed to stand in a help Dream, Dream seemed to have I covered. He took the little time for the start to get to know them and figure this would be the best way to techno the soldiers and Techno could only see how well it worked. The soldiers had learnt more in this short time than the month they had before.

As the sun lowered Techno watched as Dream moved around the soldiers helping and teaching them. And the soldiers seemed to respect him now and to Techno that was something Dream should be proud off. Managing to change a big group of peoples opinion on you in such a short time is a big accomplishment.
