Chapter 2: S-smiles?

The last thing Dream say was white before he saw nothing.
Darkness covered his view and for a moment Dream thought that something went wrong until, he heard yelling.

"Please!!! Help!!" Someone shouted, they sounded like a woman. "There no one to help us?!" Another voice rang out in the darkness. This time sounding like a man's voice. "Mu-m I'm s-scared" a quiet voice told there mother, there voice shaking from fear.

Dreams eyes shot open and Dream took in his surroundings. He was laying in a grassy clearing. Dream quickly stood up on his feet when he remembered what had woken him in the first place. Looking round Dream found the three he heard stood with the man and woman somewhat back to back as the kid was stood between them as monster crept closer to them.

Without much more thought Dream pulled his axe off of his back and charged forwards his axe in hand. First Dream attacked a zombie taking its head off as he moved on. The three looked at Dream as he began clearing the monster. A skeleton took aim aiming its bow at the woman.

Dream who saw this ran to the skeleton head on and deflected the arrow before rushing forward and killing the skeleton. Dream didn't waste time in asking the woman if she was okay as he took a quick glance towards her before he moved to his next target.

An arrow came flying at Dream as he took down yet another zombie but instead of dogging or deflecting the arrow Dream caught it before slamming it into another zombie head. Once he took down the skeleton there where no more monsters in the near area.

Dream walked over to the three who where looking at him with awe and what looked to be slight fear as well. As Dream go closer his put his axe away to try to seem less like a threat. "Are you three alright?" He asked once he was close enough to them that he didn't have to shout. "Yes, thanks to you" the woman thanks as she turned to pick up her child.

"Thank you for saving us. I don't think we'd be alive if you didn't come along a save us" the man thanked Dream as he walked towards him. "My names Mark" The man now named Mark introduce himself as his put his hand towards Dream. Dream took the hand shaking it. "Dream" Dream said causing them to stop for a minute and look at him.

"As in Dream, the masked warrior? Didn't you die?" Mark questioned looking at Dream suspiciously. "Yeah that's me. And I did die. It's a long story that I don't think I have time to share" Dream told Mark as he look around to make sure they where still safe. Which they where.

Mark nodded agreeing with Dream that they did in fact not have time. "This is my wife Alisa, and my son Alex" Mark said as he pointed to his wife and son. Dream nodded in greeting before getting back to business.

"Do you know if there's so sort of save haven for us to get to?" Dream asked them seriously. "Umm, yes actually Antarctica castle. Apparently they've secure an area around the castle in the lower part" Mark told Dream who nodded and began to look around to see if he could tell there they are. Luckily he could. He's been here many a time. "Alright. If we continue going north we should come across Antarctica" Dream told them as he looked north and pointed letting them know that it was the way they had to go.

"If we continue and don't stop we should be able to get there by day break" Dream said as he began to walk in the correct direction. But he stoped when he noticed that the family of three weren't following. "Is everything alright?" Dream asked them as he made his way back towards them. "Yes it's just that Alex is only 6 he's not going to be able to walk that long" Alisa told Dream as she look towards her son. "I'll carry him. That way it won't slow us down and he doesn't have to walk" Dream told her as he knelt down to Alex's level.

"Alex we've got a long walk till we get somewhere safe and I'll be easier if I carry you then you don't have to walk. Is that okay?" Dream asked Alex wanting it make sure it was okay with the young boy. With a nod from Alex Dream picked him up. He then turned towards Alex's parents. "Come on then. We've wasted enough time. We have to get moving" Dream told the couple as he once again began to walk north with Alex in his arms and the husband and wife duo following close behind him.

The walk was long and tiring for all of them. But less so for Dream. They did come across a few monsters but they where quickly and swiftly taking out by Dream before Dream once again picked Alex up and continued on.

As the sun started to set the four of them where finally able to see Antarctica not so far away in the distance. They walk now sped up as safely was now in view. With each step relief filled them more and more. And soon they where stood in front of the gates.

Dream looked up at the top of the gates and shouted "excuse me could you let us in!" Not long after the gate started to open as soldiers came forward to greet them.

"Come in quickly so we can close the gate" one of the soldiers told them and they did just that. They walked in through the kingdom gate as it closed behind them.

"Names" a soldier asked with a book in hand. Dream could only assume it was to keep track of who came through the gate. "I'm Mark. And this is my wife and son Alex" Mark told the soldier while pointing to his family. "Age" the soldier asked. "I'm 28, my wife is 26 and my son is 6" Mark said as they watched the soldier write everything down in his book.

"Alright and you are?" The soldier questioned now turning to Dream. "Oh, I'm Dream and I'm 22" Dream told the soldier who nodded while writing before stoping abruptly as he just properly processed what Dream said. "That can't be right. Dream died" the soldier said as looked at Dream with suspicion clear. "I did die but I was brought back. I know it seems like I'm lying but I'm not" Dream tried to the the soldier who didn't believe him.

The soldier made a hand movement to the other soldiers to moved in and they approached Dream. Who slowly put Alex down and raised his hands to where they could see them. "I mean no harm. Truly" Dream told them as Alex moved away to go to his mother while the soldiers grabbed Dream and put his hands behind his back and took his weapons. Dream who was still wearing his mask didn't protest, he just let them take his weapons and tie his hands behind his back.

"Take him to the king, him or Prince Techno will be able to know if it's really him" the soldier told the others who began to make Dream walk towards the castle.

The walked to the castle wasn't what Dream would describe as nice as the soldiers taking him kept tugging on his chains harder than needed and shoving him when it was clearly unneeded as Dream was more than happy to comply.

Soon they arrived at the throne room. They the guards guarding the doors opened them allowing them through.

"Your Majesty's" one of the soldiers called out stepping forward taking the job of talking as the other two shoved Dream to the floor so that Dream was kneeling. "This man we've brought before you clam's that he's Dream, the masked warrior" he spoke moving to the side putting one of this arms out in Dreams direction.

Dream looked up to see Phil sat in his throne with Wilbur, Techno, Tommy and Ranboo sat with him.
The royal family turned to look at Techno who was staring at Dream intently. Techno sighed as he stood up and made his way to Dream. The mask Dream left behind still strapped to his hip.

Once he was in front of Dream he turned to the soldiers. "Move" Techno told the soldiers who hesitated slightly before moving away from Dream. Techno crouched down in front of Dream and moved his hand up towards his masked before stoping. "If your not who you say you are. You'll be kill in cold blood right here right now" Techno told Dream who wasn't even slightly shaken. Techno's hand continued towards Dreams smiley mask as Techno finally gripped it. Slowly Techno moved them mask and made sure only he could see the man's face. When he saw the face behind the mask he stoped. He forgot to breath as he stared at those green eyes he's missed as they started back into his red once.

"S-smile?"
