"Master (Y/L/N), we have a special assignment for you," Windu said as you walked between him and Yoda on the pristine white floors of Kamino.

"A group of clones you must oversee," Yoda explained, "experimental, they are."

You nodded in respect, "of course, master."

"They are about to run the training course," Mace said as you arrived at the overlook balcony above the training facility.

You looked down as a force of five clones, only they were different, they did not conform to the traditional look. As soon as they started running the course, you could tell they were different. "Master, what is special about these clones?" you asked.

"They have genetic defects with desirable skills," Windu explained, "they don't behave like normal clones."

"Determine if their defects are worth the risk, your job is," Yoda finished.

You nodded and continued watching the clones blow past the training course. Once they had finished successfully, they hollered in excitement and clapped each others hands.

"A new record," Mace said, looking at the holofile in front of him, "no one has completed this course with such an impressive time."

You nodded, but your focus was on the clones again, they removed their helmets and you were instantly drawn to the long dark hair of the Sergeant. You had seen many clones in your time, but none like him.

"Come, general," Windu said, walking away from the overlook, "let me introduce you to your squad."

You looked on at the memory, Kanan and Ezra beside you. "They were impressive from the very beginning," you said to them, "I had never seen a force more loyal and adaptable."

"So was the risk of their behavior worth it?" Ezra asked.

You nodded, "yes, they were always successful. After I gave my report to the council, they offered to reassign me to a traditional squad, but I liked running with the Bad Batch, they made me better, more flexible with my strategies."

Kanan placed a hand on your shoulder, "we all looked up to you, and them."

You smiled at him gratefully, then turned back away from both of them shifting the image again, "for so long everything was fine, besides the war going on around us of course."

You and the batch were lounging in their quarters, writing up the report from the previous mission.

"And then...BANG! I blew it up!" Wrecker shouted, throwing something across the room as Tech recorded, "and you better write it just like that, Tech!"

Tech pushed his goggles back up the bridge of his nose, "I highly doubt it is necessary to record it just like that."

While Tech and Wrecker continued their argument Crosshair cleaned his gun in the corner and Echo laughed as he watched the two fight. Hunter came to sit next to you, "another successful mission, general."

You nodded, "is your measure of success the same as Wrecker's?"

Hunter laughed, "he considers it a success if he gets to break something."

You chuckled, motioning for him to sit across from you, "honestly Hunter, everywhere we go we meet with success, the droids aren't able to keep up with your unorthodox tactics."

"That's a good thing, isn't it," he asked.

"It is," you replied, "but there are those that would do anything to have your success rate, you should be cautious."

Hunter's face turned serious, "the only people here are my brothers or my commanders, should I worry about them?"

You placed a hand on his shoulder, "no, I only mean to keep your eyes open, I sense something elusive, the force is trying to warn me about something, I just don't know what it is."

Before Hunter could reply, Wrecker interrupted, "General, would you tell Tech to record the mission report the RIGHT way?!"

You chuckled, "Tech, just record his narrative the way he wants," you said, moving to walk towards them.

Wrecker looked pleased as he walked back to his side of the room and grabbed something to eat, Tech looked at you in confusion, "in the narrative you submit, just keep it simple," you whispered with a wink.

"It was easy with them," you said to Kanan and Ezra. Your force body moved to stand next to Hunter, looking into his eyes deeply, even though he couldn't see you.

"The thing you warned Hunter about," Kanan said, "it was the Emperor, wasn't it."

You nodded, "I had always felt something was wrong, especially towards the end of the war, but I could never place what it was."

"Master Billaba always talked about it too," Kanan replied, "she said it felt cold and uncertain."

You nodded, shifting the image again.
