chapter thirty nine- my unknown lover

peter didn't respond first thing he just stared blankly into the distance I tried to speak to him but he wouldn't say a word his eyes started filling up with tears he buried his most of his head into my shoulder and started sobbing his heart out I comforted him saying softly

'baby don't cry please tell me what's the matter I'll be able to help you out that way'

he glanced up at me before mumbling

'it's all my fault'

I was unsure at that point what was his fault he hadn't done anything wrong I quickly asked him

'what's your fault I don't understand'

peter exhaled before explaining

'I didn't save norman in time I feel like I should've saved him as well I shouldn't have jumped over that mechanism I'm such a fucking useless asshole'

He started to sob more after he said that I ran my fingers through his golden brown hair and whispered

'it's ok it wasn't your fault his body was being taken over by the green goblin but now he can finally rest peace'

peter slowly glanced up at me he wiped away his tears before smiling brightly we both looked at the sun setting beautifully in the clear distance it was like the first few times I met him as spiderman the view was stunning and we didn't know much about each other it was like I was reliving history all over again peter put his arm around my shoulder before resting his head on my shoulder he grinned before he replied deeply

'you know we're graduating high school in two weeks time'

I responded

'yeah I know it's gone like a bomb hopefully my parents will go to the graduation because they've never been to any special events provided by the school'

peter stared me before asking

'why that's horrible your so hardworking'

I exhaled lightly before explaining

'my parents only care about my other siblings they think I'm the mistake because I've messed up so many times for them even if I do something for them they'll never thank me and now I feel like I haven't tried hard enough I wish I could try harder maybe people would like me if I put the extra effort in'

peter looked over at me I felt like I was going to cry but he leaned in to kiss me the kiss lasted for a few seconds before we slowly pulled away from each other I wiped the tears that were formed in my eyes peter said calmly

'you've worked hard enough baby you don't have to work any harder people will still thank you for your hard work I don't give a fuck if your parents say you've made so many mistakes you've got to believe mistakes aren't the end of the world it means you're learning still but remember you've got me delilah and harry I guess'

we both stood up and I hugged him tightly before saying

'thank you for being there when I felt like shit spidey I hope you'll be in my life forever'

an hour later the sun had finally disappeared in the sky the stars were shining brightly and the moon was glowing down on us me and peter were still sat on the edge of the building I wanted to go home already because I was afraid if my parents would beat the shit out of me so I stood up and mumbled

'peter can we go home now it's getting pretty late'

Peter then stood up and replied with

'sure babe I'll take you home'

he put his mask back on as I held onto his shoulders tightly before he shot a web on a nearby building and started swinging me home a few minutes later we finally arrived home peter lowered me down onto the balcony as he carefully climbed through my window I whispered to him

'thank god you made it in go into the bathroom get changed and take a shower if you need to'

peter whispered back

'thanks babe'

he sneaked over to the bathroom before slowly closing the door behind him I then opened the door to my room and closed it before turning on the light I slumped onto my comfy bed straight away saying to myself

'what a day'

suddenly peter came out in a t-shirt and bagging pj bottoms his hair was slightly wet he walked over to my bed and snuggled in he responded with

'I'm finshed in there if you want to get changed'

I quickly grabbed some clothes before running into the bathroom to get changed

after that I walked out the bathroom peter smiled romantically he said deeply

'you look beautiful baby in everything you wear'

I blushed lightly before saying

'thanks peter I love you so much'

I kissed his cheek before turning the light off and snuggling into bed I smiled at Peter saying quietly

'you know this is my second time sleeping with you'

peter laughed

'yeah hopefully your parents don't catch me here'

I explained

'same here I wish they'd invite you over to my place but I know they would never do that because there so'

at that moment I heard heavy breathing peter must have fallen asleep already I carefully put the duvet over him and myself I murmured before shutting my eyes

'goodnight spiderman I love you'
