JULY OF 1985 STARTED OFF COOL. It wasn't too hot or too cold and the population of Hawkins could thank to thick, dark, angry clouds rolling in. Bella awoke the next day with the smell of rain in the air, disturbing the recent hot, muggy air that you could not escape. The entire month of June was filled with that weather and it was changing as they headed closer too the fall, closer to October.

Bella heard the sound of thunder clapping faintly in the horizon, she was not awoken by the usual sun beams or hot air, she awoke with thunder. The dark angry clouds replacing the fluffy white pristine ones. July of Hawkins wasn't usually filled with storms, the civilians didn't quite understand it and decided to keep themselves locked into their houses only coming out to collect the newspapers and milk bottles.

Her eyes fluttered open and was faced with El's draw set, Bella's arm aches and her head spins as she slowly sits up feeling a little strange. Glancing back at the clock she reads the time, half past ten in the morning. Eleven and Max are already missing from the bed, it being neatly made. Heaving in a sigh, Bella runs her hands down her face and then getting up. Max and El are sat on the couch with bowls of cereal laughing over something.

The red head notices Bella in the doorway first, her smile drops before picking back up quickly. "Morning." Eleven grins brightly as Bella grumbles something inaudible and walks towards the bathroom. El's smile falls as she looks at Max, confusion taking over her happy expression, "Bella's not a morning person."

"Oh, right." Eleven nods a little, not quite understanding what she meant. It's nearly afternoon when they leave El's house, the clouds had only gotten darker and were beginning to show signs of rain, Bella knew it was going to rain very soon and it wouldn't be sunny. The last thing Bella wanted to do on a rainy summer day was look for Max's older brother who had given her a traumatic head injury and made homophobic comments towards her.

"It's gonna start pouring soon." Max states, squinting up at the sky as she walks beside Bella and get ready to turn onto Old Cherry road, heading towards Max's house. "We should be at the mall or, like, watching a movie or something." Bella's expression brightens at the mentions of a movie.
