Issue 8: Jealousy

Y/n's POV

"That is all the money I owe."

I made sure to wake up as early as possible to bring this douche his money. 7:10 am, right before school, just so it was clear that my family wouldn't be struggling on a old musty cot in some church.

"Well, you're good for the month. Make sure not to fall behind again or we will have no choice but to have you move out within 24 hours of your missed payment. " says the complex's manager flipping through every bill I had handed him.

"Ill make sure you'll be paid before then. " I grabbed my backpack and walked out of the building right back into my car.

As soon as I jumped back into the driver's seat, I begin texting Yeonjun I was on my way. He texted back with a: I just got up, see you in 15~.

When I arrived he was standing on the sidewalk with his headphones in staring aimlessly at the sky. His face was blank, but his eyes were dark and baggy as if he had stayed up a bit too late. I drive up in front of him and honk the horn twice. The boy looks at me taking off his headphones and placing them around his neck. I rolled down the window motioning to come inside.

"Morning Y/n."

"Morning. You look really tired.. How late did you stay up last night?"

"..4:30.." He says entering the passenger side of my car.

"Yeonjun, that's way too late.."

"I know.. Don't worry though. I was just up studying for an exam today." he says with a smile of reassurance. 

"Sleep is just as important as studying." I say putting the car out of park and slowly driving from out of the view of his neighborhood.

He nods and apologizes softly to me. I sighed feeling a bit bad for getting onto him, but I was so worried about his health and well being. In attempt to lighten the mood I turned on the radio at a low volume.

"GOOOD MORNING AND BREAKING NEWS! Yesterday, a press conference with Beyond and authorities were held. This was a response to the frequent happenings involving the criminal that brought about major concerns from the public. Their man goals are to uncover the identity of Spear and take him down for good. Beyond reveals he and local police have three possible suspects that could be Spear, but the details are confidential as they are still investigating these individuals.. "

I glanced at Yeonjun who like earlier blankly stares off into space. "Who.. do you think Spear is?"

Without looking at me, he sighs deeply and answers, "He could be anyone. For all we know, he could be someone close. Like you." Yeonjun looks at me seriously before letting out a chuckle.

"Me?" I laughed, "I'm a Beyond fanatic, more so than a Superb comic stan."

"Is that so?" he says in a playful tone.

"It may be hard to believe.. However, Superb is just a dark comic that glorifies someone like Spear. Obviously, villainy and supporting them involved are wrong." I say turning into the school parking lot.

"I know, it was a joke Y/n. I don't think you'd ever go so low." he says with a smile. My heart squeezes at this. Because even if I haven't helped Spear out yet. It was the thought I was about to go 'low' and possibly assist in hurting others. My idea was to help with my skills, I never intended to become someone like this over the mention of money. 

When I arrived at my usual parking space, there sat Changbin waiting for us on a bench a couple of parking spaces from us. My heart went from a squeeze to pure suffocation seeing him. I looked away before we could lock eyes and I try to catch my breath. Yeonjun taps on my shoulder.
