Changbin's POV
I have never seen so many people scream like I did that night. Never saw so much blood and ash. Though the thing I remembered most vividly was how easy it was to make the planet collapse on itself. How easy it was to make a star that was older than my whole cavillation shrink and implode into a marvelous supernova. The colors were so bright and district it was something I wish I could have shared with Y/n. However, I knew I could never truly enjoy a moment like that. Especially since I could image her crying her eyes out into my chest after watching the people she loved disappear in the blink of an eye. I felt guilty for doing what I did.. but do not regret it. She was safe and most importantly she was with me.
"Your reading was longer this time.." My father says walking beside me.
"More vivid too.. I'm uneasy about it though.."
"Is it because of your death?" My father stops walking and stands there looking at me with a soft expression.
"Dying without her already hurts.."
"You'll be fine. Besides.. don't you find another more superior raced girl?"
".. I rather not.." I scoffed walking again.
That night during dinner, it was just my mother, Y/n, and me. It was quiet and I could tell there was some kind of tension in the air from all sides of the room. I wondered if Y/n was overthinking being told her whole life in the span of a minute.. It must be a harsh reality for her just as it is for me knowing my new path.
"Y/n, I've set up a bunch of things for you. You'll have lessons with Erebus or me every day for 3 hours to learn our language. There is an appointment set up once a week to start you on medical checkups and possible procedures for things like longevity."
"Sounds good." she pokes at her food with a sigh.
"Are you okay?" Her sister asks.
Y/n looks over to her blinking blankly, "Yeah."
"Why don't you tell Y/n about your day?" I say.
"So, today they let me go to their schools-" Her fake sister feds her lies of what she did throughout the day. Closely I watched for a tiny smile to at least break through. The whole time Jess speaks there was only soft sad smiles instead of bright ones she usually gives her. I wondered than if the prophecy had shown the truth.. Maybe she was suffering from such a big lie I had fed her.
I motioned for a maid to come over to my side. Quietly, I tell the maid to grab me Erebus. After a minute, he fast walks into the room.
"Young leader?" he asks politely in our tongue. I mostion him to come closer.
I then speak in a whisper that she couldn't hear. "Does she know that her sister isn't real?"
He nods, "It was my fault.. My human speech isn't very efficient. I apologize."
"I see... Leave." he leaves the room and Y/n looks to me curiously.
"What happened?"
"Nothing.." She is such an open book when it comes to emotions and feelings. How am I going to fix this? I felt myself turning to someone like Yeonjun.. a liar whose words held no meaning. How else was I supposed to keep her stable though? I took from her more than I had given. Humans are like glass one drop and they either crack or break. Therefore, Y/n was a soul I had to touch with elegance and grace. What was I to do? My only tool to keep her just above water was gone.
