Y/n's POV
That last clue on Beyond stuck with me. Because as soon as Changbin said he was close.. Yeonjun popped up in my head. Though, I shook it off not wanting to believe it. However, the more it crawls back into my mind the more I start using certain situations and conversations that made things fit like puzzle pieces. It made me rethink my whole perspective of him. He leaves a lot, doesn't stick to plans, and he broke promises. It would make sense. Though how could he keep something so important away from me? How could that be dangerous just to be aware? I kept blaming him for things like breaking promises when he was really out saving people. Then again he broke the promise of being honest with me and he lied to the world about murdering a kid. We have known each other for so long, he should be able to trust me.. but he doesn't. My whole self is at a loss. I had no idea how to think or what to do. Its hard to fully believe Beyond and Yeonjun were one. All I can do is pray that my mind was simply overthinking.
"Y/n, your phone is ringing!" I grab my phone from Changbin and answer it.
"Hello?" I say before my Grandmother's voice begins to boom out.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?" Its so loud that it catches Changbin's attention.
"I'm at work."
"Your out with that boy aren't you? After I told you not too??"
"What do you mean?" I say with nervous laughter.
"I just got a back from the library. You cursed out your manager and quit. They also said you where leaving with Changbin."
I look over to Changbin who tells me to put the phone on speaker. As I do that, my Grandmother continues on yelling, "I want you home right now!"
"Gran I am fine and I am not doing anything bad."
"That is exactly what your mother said before getting hooked on those street drugs."
Changbin steps in, " There is no drugs around here, she is safe. I just got her a better job downtown working as a Computer Tech with me."
"I don't believe a word that comes out of your damn mouth. Y/n, get your ass home right now." My Grandmother hangs up and I immediately look to Changbin who sighs.
"I'll sneak you out from now on I guess."
Quickly, I grab my things and apologize to Changbin who just shrugs it off saying it wasn't the end. He was extremely calm about it, but I was worried about how disappointed my Gran must have felt. If anything I wanted nothing more than to stay at that stupid job. But orders are orders especially when money and a dangerous criminal is involved.
The moment I got home, it was a quite house with the old woman staring me down like I was the biggest disappointment there was. It brought tears to my eyes to see such a look come from her.
"Gran.. I can explain."
"Explain."
"Changbin got me a job as a computer tech that pays way much more than the Library ever could."
"Hand me your bag." I hand her my backpack. The two things she grabs are my personal cell phone and my wallet. She goes through my wallet first. She pulls out all of my money and starts counting it.
"It's-"
"Not a word.. 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000.. You have $1000 in cash after working two weeks.. Are you sure its not prostitution or gang activity?"
"Yes ma'am. I am very sure. I knew you'd freak out even if this job paid more.."
"You should have told me regardless. I want you in an environment that is safe and where I know the people you are working with. You are still in high school.. You are naïve and too young to be taking a random job from a boy with a record of skipping and tattoos." She begins searching through my phone probably looking at all my messages and photos. But nothing would ever be found there. Only my work phone had things that could seriously criminalize me. Thankfully, that phone was tucked into a pencil bag out of sight.
