Issue Zero

It all started long long ago during the development of the Neolithic Revolution. Specifically it was when the planets aligned into a straight perfect line within the Milky Way Galaxy.  The communities of people people were shocked at the phenomenon. Because as the planets aligned, a mysterious man of an unknown race dropped down from the heavens. They called him Tumaini.
The Egyptian word for Hope.
They worshipped him like a god and fed into every word he uttered. He was hope to them just like they had named him, for when touched things they healed and when he spoke things they became real. The man they called Hope built them up and was the essence of law and order. No human went against him or his future generations .

That was until one King from a far land came to power..

A cold hearted Tsar who sent his army to the edge of Hope's land. He killed every single person that had any trace of the being's blood. Though, he wasn't really as successful as most would think because a lone child was left crying over the dead. A lone child on his hands and knees watching the flames burn his home and blood pool from his mother's head.
"A child. Kill him so we can be done."

He was dragged to the edge of the river and held down until his whole body was limp. The men considered him dead and left him to float in the river.. His cold motionless body floated until it reached a random village far from his homeland. From there he was taken in and treated. And like magic, he was alive. The men who tried to rid him were tricked, the boy only went unconscious and his heart only paced slow and sad. His life was now his to live dispute the harsh reality of all the death that was seen.The village who had taken him in did so with open arms. They taught him all their ways until their village was tricked by the men who wished to conquer the land.

This boy with blood of Hope traveled long and far until he became a man that reached a land of dreams. Dreams of freedom and dreams of a new kind of hope.

He lived long and had two children. His children had  children and then...

Their children had kids. Kids that still live on today...

3 years ago.. before the End..

"I have to protect my child."
"Save your tears for your creator.."

He was bleeding at all the openings in his face. All of It poured out onto the ground and onto my boots as I stepped onto his right hand.
"He's strong you know?" The man cried out, I scoffed at him applying more pressure into my step.
"I'll see it when I believe it."

Within out hesitation I throw the bastard into the wall and then throw him back into the ground without laying a hand on his blood soaked body.
"Please...I'm begging.. We have to keep living. To keep our heritage alive.." The poor helpless foul tried crawling away from me towards the door. Smirking I look to the wall with his family's pictures. I intentionally engraved the face of the only son into my mind for his death was meant to be done by my hands.
"Relax I'll let your son take sometime off, and I'll murder him when he's acknowledged just to break that hope you speak of.."
"I warn you Spear.. my son his strong.."
"We will see in time.." I immediately twist my two first fingers together and flip the palm of my hand towards the ceiling.  The old hero's neck snaps and not another word or even breath slips from his lips.

Nonchalantly, I walk out of the house straight into the bright moonlit night. Faintly my combat boots tap the ground on the house floors until I leave walking onto the green fake grass. For precaution I pull up my hood on my black hoodie and pull up my black medical mask. As soon as I was a good ways away, his family arrives without suspicion. That was until a loud scream of a woman screeches out into the air followed my a teen boy's pleading cries over the loss of his father..

That's right.
Justice and that stupid Hope was dead.

Only one remained.
