Issue #1: Beyond

POV: Yeonjun aka Beyond

"It's been 3 years since the great super hero Justice was mysteriously murdered. In honor of his many accomplishments in his short time with us, the city hall has build a life size statue. It's grand opening will be at noon and presented on live right here on HBS along with appearance of his weather bending son Beyond."

Three years.
Doesn't even feel like it's been that long. I remember like it was yesterday when I found him dead on the floor. I was too late to help him .. No, I was simply too weak to help him.. If only I trained a bit more that previous day. If only I had done more. I guess it was reality I'd have to go through all this being his only successor. The great new superhero of our generation they call me. Beyond. Because I was beyond justice and hope. I was to pass those high expectations my father had set. My goal was to live out until the very fucking end. I won't die until I lay my hands around Spears throat and secure this planet from his ideals. There's no way I'd live not being the one to kill the bastard and set the world into a period of peace..

"I'll do my best.." I say turning the TV off before grabbing my school bag.
"Ah sweetie! Did you find your tie?!"
I smiled grabbing it off my chest to show her, "Right here."
"Good! Also, don't forget that ceremony for your father's statue, they want Beyond there!"
"Of course mom. I'll be there." I say pressing my lips together and nodding. Immediately, I left because my ride lay waiting at the curb of my residence.
"YEONJUN . Hurry your ass up we are going to be late!"
"I know I know!" I get in hurryingly, " I had to wait for my tie to dry.. Sorry Y/n.."
"You should have cleaned your uniform yesterday.."
"I tried, but I got.. busy.. with homework."
"Right right.. Anyway, I hope you are ready for that history test.."
"History?!" I looked at her with wide eyes.
"I'm joking that's tomorrow.."
"Tomorrow?!" I huffed leaning back into the seat.
"Do you not read the schedule?"
"Don't have the time.. Could you help me study??"
"Yeonjun.." she glared.
"Please.." I say pouting at her.
"Fine. I'll be in the library early today from 1 -10pm"
"You're the best!"
"As always..." She rolls her eyes playfully.

Y/n is my best friend. We have known each other for about 4 years. Though it hasn't been long, I really felt I could trust her with everything that I have. However, I don't think I could tell her I was Beyond. I know she would support me, but telling her would probably put her in danger.. And I don't want to bring her down with me when Spear starts doing his attention whore shenanigans. If I lost Y/n, I think I'd loose myself. I guess you could say I was absolutely in love with her with the way I think and talk about her. She's someone I want around, she's someone I want to spend all my free time with. Even though we had our own busy separate lives, I wanted nothing more than to make even a friendship work with her. Y/n has a pure heart. I could sense it. Just like someone could smell when it was to rain; I could sense her good intention just the same .

"Alright, get out of my car." She glared parking roughly.
"I'm going.." I say smirking lightly as I got out of the passenger side.
"Five minutes til class, wonder who made that happen." She teases also getting out.
"Stop bullying."
"You deserve it after making me wait 30 minutes.. I guess I should just let you walk next time.." Y/n smirks fast walking up the stairs and into the school.

Thankfully, we both got into our seats before the last bell rang out into the many halls. However, it didn't matter as the teacher still wasn't here.
"She's not here yet?"
A random classmate taps my shoulder as I sit down and as he looks he gives a cheeky smirk, "She got pulled out of class by the principal. Rumor has it she's in league with a villain.."
I raise one of my eye brows, "Bullshit."
"Wouldn't doubt it, I mean what kind of sane person gives out 10 pages for an essay at a highschool level.." the boy huffs.
Y/n looks to me a bit concerned. I shook my head at this because I knew most villains only worked alone. Having sidekicks wasn't so much a thing unless they were begging to be put in jail or killed. It was too much of a risk to have someone else in your circle.. That's why Spear is such a big threat..
He works alone and doesn't speak a word to no one. I've fought him twice and each time, I've never even heard his voice.
