Issue 21: Karma

Y/n POV:

The weekend had arrived. Though the rumors on web pages and pictures of me still were a trending topic on my classmates socials. Even if my heart had sunk into my chest after all of it, I felt a bit of relief knowing Yeonjun still didn't think of me in any bad way. I know he misses how things used to be and sometimes during events like this.. I do too.

"Everything looks good to go." Changbin states. We both stood outside in the backyard facing each other like we were going to war. Changbin dressed his part in full Spear attire and I in the clothes of a slutty business woman with my pink wig and black mask. It was one of those days where I felt something was not right. Today was another high paced mission to ruin Beyond. As people stand and cheer for a parade with floats of color or light, we were to come in and absolutely destroy what peace these people had held onto. I was not sure if things would go well or if things would go wrong. Overall, I still could not kick this scary feeling fluttering inside of me.

"Guess it is time." I say nervously as anything could happen. Anything could go really right to really wrong in seconds. Even if we had multiple plans to fall back too.. I stood there fearful of looking into the eyes of Beyond or even the dead. Changbin walks over to me and sweetly hugs me.

"You got this. Just go with the plan. I will make sure you are safe."

"Thank you.." I hugged back.

He lets go and looks at me with a soft smile.  I hold onto him yet again, this time my face buried in his chest. We shoot up into the windy skies and eventually find ourselves in an ally way that led directly near a huge float. It had pretty iridescent and bright green décor. It also had a multicolored light up sign that said " We are all heroes!"

"I'm going to sneak in. You start acting like your apart of the float's cast as soon as it starts to take off.." Spear puts on a cap and covers his clothes with a random hoodie from a duffle bag. Spear walks right out and a slides in the floats truck as if he was meant to be there. I, on the other hand, waited with a microphone horn and duffle bag in hand. As soon as the line moved I jumped on and blended right in with the people on the float. Though the others on the float with me, quickly caught on at the site of my pink hair.

"OH MY GOD YOUR-"

"Karma." I say with a blank colorless voice. The float then  followed in the line to a shit load of people cheering on the side walks. I walked up to the highest point of the float. Nonchalantly, I raised the microphone up and spoke into it. "PEOPLE! Beyond is full of fucking shit. Look with your eyes and see the truth.." I grab multiple flyers from the duffle bag and let them fly out into the side walks. They were flyers of multiple incriminating instances of every past superhero related to Beyond and himself, "This whole parade is one BIG distraction from it all.." I pull out a silenced gun from the bag and aim it a big balloon in the shape of Beyond's dad Justice. I shoot it dead straight in the head and it starts to deflate and become uncontrollable.

Some people with anti-hero signs start yelling, "FUCK BEYOND. DOWN WITH HIS LEGACY." Some others ended up joining in too and gathered around following the float I was on.

"He is apart of the corruption of this failing country. He sides with those who do not care about you. They all want nothing but money taken straight from the working class."

Spear than jumps over from the passenger window and then over to me. People began either screaming or cheering as he reveals his presence. He speaks with a whisper, "Your smiling. I guess this was a good idea after all, huh?"

"Sure, your turn." I say pointing to the many people either following or running. He winks at me and turns away.  With quick precision as if he were dancing to a soft melody he holds out a hand in front of him, his palms flat and fingers at a slight curl. He then closes his hands into fist and the sign with lights and letters begins crunching into itself screeching out for help. In the distance a police helicopter flies shouting at us to stand down. Spear throws the sign at the helicopter and it ends up loosing control and crashing into an apartment complex. I raise a concerning brow at him for I didn't like the idea of people dying.
