Drail was relaxing at the hot tub, he had no problems in life and he thought that nothing could change this calm scene. Something rustled along the foliage nearby. Drail got out of the tub and summoned his clothes back.
"Who goes there?" He knew it wasn't Dotto, he wouldn't sneak around. But what he didn't know is that it will shock him a lot. And cause way more problems in the future. From a bush, two pointy ears appeared. Drail was confused, he thought that he was the only 'beastman', as how Dotto calls his kind, to exist in this world. The figure stood up, Drail's jaw dropped. It was Dire, that annoying, yet amusing acquaintance. Well, he decided that he was a friend.
"Oh, um... Surprise?" Dire awkwardly said, smiling awkwardly too. As much as he's happy, well yes. He is happy. But he's worried about something.
"Dire! How... When...?" Drail hugged Dire, he was taken by surprise at how affectionate and normal Drail was.
"H-hey! Drail, you're uh... Are you ill? I've ever seen you this, affectionate?"
"Ah, apologies. This is me being me, not my work self." Dire's ears perked up.
"Ohhhh! So that's why you were so distant before, you were on duty." Drail sighed, Dire didn't know what his profession was. It was better if he didn't know, that would cause problems if he did.
"Draaaail! I got us some snacks!" Dotto yelled, running up to them with bags full of chips, he stopped when he saw Drail hugging Dire. "Uh, what the fuck? Who the hell is he?" Another furry!? Dotto's hella lucky
"Dire, a hunter. And you, you're a human, aren't you?" Dire asked, Dotto nodded.
"I'm Dotto, I'm assuming you're friends with Dire, right?"
"Affirmative. Uh, Drail, you can let go now." Drail let go, a little embarrassed.
"Wait, so the both of you have magic, right?" Dotto asked, they both nodded. "Well shit, I feel useless. I'm the only one without magic."
"Nonsense! All humans have magic, or at least all of the humans that I know." Which were humans I murdered but that's not the point. Drail whispered something in Dire's ear.
"This world is boring." Dire stated. "Well, a world with no magic can be changed by a person with magic, no?"
"I suppose that is true..." Drail thought about it.
"Wait, so I can learn magic?" Dotto asked, Dire nodded. "Really? Can you teach me?"
"I suppose I can, nothing much to do, anyways." Dotto excitedly jumped and giggled. They all went back home, Dire was still worried about that something... Or someone. He just hopes she won't be of much trouble...
