I trudged into the apartment. The flight was very long and had many stops on the way. I had so many missed calls from Nathan but I blocked and deleted his number. I wanted nothing to do with him.

I placed my suitcase down and walked over to the bed and collapsed on it. I was so tired. I was still wearing my dress.

I removed my makeup and took off my dress. Then I went and showered. The landlord was surprised that I arrived at this hour of the night. It was almost midnight.

I showered and texted my friends, telling them that I arrived safely.

My other things would arrive within the next few days.

I took my blanket and sheet out of my suitcase and made the bed.

Soon enough I was fast asleep.

The buzzing of my phone brought me out of my sleep. Morning always comes by so quickly when you're tired.

I groggily answered the phone.

"Good morning Annette. This is Evie. I just wanted to say that I don't think Nathan is doing okay. I haven't seen him all night."

"Girl, bye." I hung up the phone, blocked and deleted her number.

Nathan isn't my problem anymore. He is hers.

The sun rays shone through the window and I rolled out of bed. I brushed my teeth, showered and prepared myself for the day.

This is a new city and a fresh start for me and I'm going to make the most out of it.

I located a diner to have breakfast at. I had a simple bacon and eggs with a glass of orange juice.

Then I walked around the town to familiarize myself with it. It was really nice.

I went to the park and sat on the bench taking in the scenery.

I can't believe I'm miles away from Nathan. Hopefully, I'll never see him again. I don't think I could bear seeing him.

I might act tough but on the inside I was in pieces. I had to will myself on and tell myself that I would be okay. This is just a phase and I would get through it. It hurt so badly but I can't keep crying.

"Beautiful women shouldn't be sitting all alone." The deep tone of a voice startled me out of my thoughts. Looking up, I came face to face with a very gorgeous guy. He had jet black hair and beautiful grey eyes. He looked around my age or slightly older.

"Beautiful women don't like talking to strangers."

"Unless it's a handsome stranger." He winked and I rolled my eyes.

"Does the lady have a name?" He asked.

"Annette Tay-Parker. I'm Annette Parker." I repeated the name, but that was more for convincing myself.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Damien Sylvester." He introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you as well."

"I haven't seen you around here before."

"Just moved."

"Oh, welcome to the town."

"Thanks." I smiled.

"Well, I'll see you around Annette, take care."

"You too."

Well he seemed nice just like Nathan. I frowned as I thought about him. It all felt so crazy. I couldn't believe this was happening.

I had lunch and then I went grocery shopping. I went to the apartment and unpacked my stuff. The apartment was really huge. It felt like a house. There were two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a balcony.
