Nathan's POV
"What the fuck is this?" I yelled at Evie.
"I made Mac and cheese, what's wrong with that?" She asked, confusion written on her face.
"I work my ass off and this is what you give me? Are you serious?"
"I don't see anything wrong with this. You're being dramatic."
"No I'm not. You just fucking suck. Annette would always make me the best dishes. She would prepare delicious food. She even made dessert. Not Mac and cheese from a fucking box."
"Why are you acting like this Nathan?"
"All you do is sit around and waste my money. You live and feed off me like a fucking leech. You quit your job for heaven's sake."
"You told me that it was okay to quit my job. Where's all of this coming from all of a sudden?"
"You can't seem to do anything right Evie. I like my clothes lavender scented. That's what Annie use to wash them with."
"Umm, what are you talking about? I did the laundry and you're upset about a scent. A freaking scent Nathan. At this point you're picking a fucking fight."
"That's not the only problem Evie. There's also the fact that you don't do the simple things. The simple fucking things."
"Like what Nathan?" She yelled.
"Like make me tea when I'm in the study. You don't bake me cookies, buy my favorite snacks, make my favorite dishes, prepare breakfast or pack me lunch for work. You don't do these things."
"So it's all about you now? You're a grown man and I'm not your maid. If you want those things then you'll have to put a ring on my fucking finger first because last time I checked, I wasn't your wife." She sneered.
"Are you hearing your fucking self? I did so much for you and what do I get in return? Not even the bare minimum. I get nothing! Absolutely nothing from you. You don't even ask me how my day was. Annette would always ask me how my day was."
"You're upset over such silly stuff. You brought me to your house to get upset with me because I'm not like your wife? Are you fucking stupid Nathan?" She snapped.
"You're always comparing me to her but I'm so sorry to burst your bubble, I'll never be her. And I don't want to be her because I'm perfectly fine being me. I'm not going to try to be someone else to please you because all you had to do was stay with Annie if you loved her that much."
"It's not about being someone else Evie. It's about taking care of someone you value and love but I guess you're only here for my money."
"I'm not here for your fucking money Nathan and you know that. I actually love you and care about you." She said as she walked up to me.
"We're only in this situation because you wanted to cheat on your wife."
"No, we're only in this situation because I told you that you're special and you believed it. You're only here because you're pregnant with my baby." I said and her eyes widened.
"W-What did you just say?"
"You heard me Evie. I love Annette and I always will. You on the other hand, wasn't suppose to get this far. Don't you get it? You weren't suppose to just ruin my marriage. You were suppose to be a fucking secret until I got bored of you. But here you are, trying to fill the void of a woman that you could never measure up to."
A gut wrenching sob wracked through the room. Evie fell to her knees and began crying.
"I know that I'll never be Annette and I don't want to be. But you didn't have to say that. You didn't have to make it seem like I'm worth nothing. I'm not trying to fill any void of your wife. I'm just being myself. What about all those awful things you said about Annette?" She screamed.
