Annette's POV
We both sat next to each other, evident looks of surprise.
"I can't believe what I'm seeing," I sighed.
"Annie, it took me a long time to process."
"Wait, what?"
"I've known for a while now."
"Girl, you gotta be joking. You know I'm your sister but you fucked Nathan."
"I was jealous. Before my mom disappeared on me. She told me I had a sister out there. All she said was that Annette was her pride and joy. She said I couldn't be half of her even if I tried. She boasted how rich and successful you were. Naturally, I got jealous. When I finally found you, I saw that you had a perfect life and that you had a husband. You lived in a wonderful house and you looked so happy."
"So I went after Nathan. I was just a nobody. I couldn't afford a lavish lifestyle, so I had to take it by force. I knew that we were related, and I did what I had to do to get that lifestyle. I ended up falling in love with Nathan in the process. Annie, I'm so sorry."
I was speechless. There was nothing I could say at this point. Everything was premeditated. She knew exactly who I was and what she was doing. Here I thought I was meeting my sister and things would be great. Little did I know that Evie would be my sister and that she would be a monster. There was nothing that could erase the hurt I was feeling.
"I know you can't forgive me right now, but I was thinking maybe-
"Shut the fuck up, Evie. I'm your sister! Your fucking blood! Nothing you can say could justify this shit! Nothing! Did Mom compare us? Yeah and so what? I don't know if you know, but she wasn't the best parent. She lived a life full of regrets, and she died like that. It's fucked up but she deserved it. She did so many things to ruin her marriage and her family. She was not a good person at all. Furthermore, the other day you visited me you told me that you had no idea who I was and you didn't know Nathan was married. Why would you lie?"
"I'm sorry. How could I tell you the truth? It would have worsened things between us. Annie, my mom had nothing. We had nothing! I felt like I had to fight for a place in this world."
"Girl you come from a family that's fucking rich. You have things to inherit. By extension, you also have a brother and sister who owns a company. They are the rich ones. But life isn't about that. You're not even a decent human being you're trash."
"I am so sorry Annette, I didn't know things would go this far. I didn't know I had other siblings. This is so fucked up and I really didn't want it to go like this."
"Girl I don't care, you are not worth my time and my peace. Fuck you. Alex let's get out of here."
As we were about to leave, a shadow appeared in the door way. A man stood there, behind him I could make out two other figures.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Annette Parker we told you we wouldn't stop looking for you," the man smiled as he stepped forward and pointed a gun at me.
Alex was about to draw his gun but the other man stepped forward and pointed a gun at Alex as well.
"Don't fucking move or I'll blow the bitch's head clean off her body," he drawled.
"Please, what do you want from me? Just leave Alex alone," I yelled.
"If you cooperate then I can agree to that."
"Come with me!" he barked and I walked over to him.
"Max, Dave, handcuff the other two," he pointed and they nodded.
