The four got into Amanda's car. Bret sighed for what felt like ages.
"Hey guys, how was it?" Amanda asked nicely.
"Good, good," Rocky answered.
Amanda started the car and drove off from the Air Reserve Base.
"How about we go eat, I'm starving." Bret rubbed his stomach.
"How about we figure that out? I have lasagna in the oven." Amanda looked into the rearview mirror at Bret.
"Yes, I'm in." Bret quickly nodded.
"God, you and your pasta habit." Everest joked.
"The carbs are best for you when playing sports. It's energy." Rocky calculated.
The five laughed about the carbs thing for Bret.
"Pasta is his savior, without it. He'd be nothing." Marshall spoke.
Bret smiled, "My favorite is pasta in linguine, it's thick and very easy to cut."
"It's funny because it's what you want." Everest chuckled.
The group arrived at Marshall's house and Bret had his mouth watering for the pasta.
"Is dad home yet?" Marshall inquired.
"Yeah, after 7 years of being a Combat Medic, he's finally home." Amanda smiled.
"Dad!" Marshall ran into the house first, followed by Bret.
"Hey, kiddo!" Brian cried whilst hugging his son.
"Good to see you, Brian." Bret waved.
"Well if it isn't the savior of my son. Bret, how have you been?" He asked while drinking a Powerade.
"It's really good, it was about time Marshall called me God," Bret smirked.
Marshall blushed, "I hate you."
Everest, Amanda, and Rocky finally walked in, "What took you guys so long?"
"Rocky got his fingers stuck in the car door." Everest walked into the kitchen.
"Scary, that doesn't feel good." Brian pointed to the freezer.
"How does that happen?" Bret looked to Everest.
"I didn't see him while I was closing the door." Everest looked down in sorrow.
"I'm trying not to make you feel bad, I've done that to my brothers before. It happened to Foxy." Bret admitted to an incident involving his younger brother.
"I can tell your morphine is wearing off," Marshall called out.
"Morphine? Who the hell drugged him?" Brian asked curiously.
"David Mendoza, the rescue team leader." Bret struggled to stand up.
"Oh God him? He's the worst they have." Brian punched the wall.
"I'm taking you to the hospital." Amanda pointed to the front door.
"I have to heal, I hope it'll be a few hours." Bret sighed feeling left out of the lasagna ordeal.
Everest stood in the kitchen, talking about what was left of Pogoren, "Was it that scary?"
"Yeah, it was terrifying." Marshall rubbed his shoulder.
"Did you guys complete the task at hand?" Brian inquired holding a coffee mug.
"Kinda? Chase killed Tarik or Reno Qatar. Bret killed rebels and troops alike. And Tracker was dead before we even knew it." Marshall explained.
