I know I don't update this for months. I'm gonna give myself deadlines. Also, a new book idea coming soon. Same book: Apocalypse AU

"Time is of the essence!" Bret ran out the door.

The group of 6 ran out of the building seconds before it collapsed. All gasping for air, "We almost died, I'm glad we're alive." Marshall sighed.

All men nodded, sprinting to the plane. Bret held his arm and had Casey hold it for comfort.

"It still hurts." Bret winced.

"It's going to hurt," Luke added, the final member of the rescue squad.

"I don't like the fact that running makes my leg hurt." Bret winced.

The group was still running, troops and rioters were causing a scene at the airport, and a shootout was formed.

"They're alive?" Rocky announced, pointing to the plane.

"And still here!" Bret declared.

"We have to be at the plane in 3 minutes," Casey told the squad.

The group ran to the plane, Rocky and Bret near each other.

"Here, Rocky take my gun, it's on my hip!" Bret gave the gun to Rocky, "Shoot anyone who gets in our way if it's our friends, don't okay?"

Rocky nodded and looked down at the sights of the gun, a .357 magnum with HP rounds.

"Why are these so lethal." Rocky scoffed.

"Gets the job done!" Bret smirked.

It wasn't time for jokes, but Bret had a trick up his sleeve, "Toss me my grenade pack, this one is gonna be a strike." With his left arm, Bret threw the grenade as hard as he could.

The grenade blew up, killing at least 12 men combined.

"STRIKE!" Bret called with his left hand.

"Very funny." Rocky rolled his eyes.

The group had no sense of danger. The gunfire stopped. Giving Bret a sense of urgency, "The sirens, I remember. The firing was too quick to stop."

Rocky gripped Bret's left hand. He ignored it, "Rocky." Bret sighed.

The group sprinted to the plane, "Almost there!" Luke yelled.

"My arm is gonna fall off!" Bret winced and bawled as he got to the plane.

"Hook him up to the IV," David growled.

"Who's gonna hold it?" Casey asked, gaining a look from Bret.

The group looked at Rocky, "Why me?"

"Perfect candidate, don't worry you'll take shifts with Casey," Luke added.

'It's going to be okay.' Bret mouthed to Rocky.

'Okay, I can trust you.' Rocky mouthed back.

Bret cried, haunted by the fact he didn't kill Tracker, "I'm sorry Skye."

Everest looked over, feeling bad, "It's okay Bret, you're alive to confess to her." The tall girl hugged Bret.

The blonde boy hugged back, only using one arm.

"I have an IV in my hands." Rocky scoffed.

"Get in the damn plane! It's time to go!" Captain Steven called.

Everyone rushed into the plane grabbing open seats.

Leaving the friends at the back of the plane, right in front of the cargo door.
