Lainey skated to the bar that next Thursday. She was meeting the managers that would take over the gay bar. She had not heard from Jess in over a week and was beginning to worry about her. She was slightly excited and nervous to see her tonight at work. After all, she was meeting "new" management and Jess had not made up her mind yet.

Lainey bustled down the San Fransisco streets through crowds of people and covered sidewalks that smelt of piss and construction. Ahh San Fransisco fresh air. If Lainey dreamt of anything, it was taking Jess away from here and to the beach somewhere. Santa Cruz or San Diego or anywhere else.

The new manager had called Lainey and asked her to come in for a conversation, maybe she could be getting her favorite job back. Lainey kicked up her board as she reached the bar and came inside.

"And this must be Lainey. Your timing is impeccable." A fresh looking woman said. Her skirt so short and shirt so low cut, Lainey thought she could at any moment pop out of it.

Lainey immediately smiled. This woman was a gorgeous blonde. Lainey only turned her eyes slightly before seeing Jess in the corner of her eye watching Lainey as she worked behind the bar.

Lainey walked up towards the new manager and shook her hand. "Always on time, ma'am." She smiled and that was a lie, but nobody could deny it there and then.

"That's a good thing. Step with me into the office with me for a moment." She said as she spun on her heels and headed into Jack's office. Everything of her's was already out and about on the desk, and it stunk of girly perfume.

"What did you say your name was?" Lainey asked.

"I didn't. It's Leanna." She smiled. Lighting up a cigarette. "You smoke?" She asked handing Lainey a cigarette.

"Yeah, thanks." Lainey took it not to be rude and threw it between her lips as Leanna stretched across the table, her cleavage practically for Lainey's entertainment. Lainey I hauled as the flame blew and sighed it out.

"I wanted to talk to you. Jack didn't have anything really to say about you besides you were a hard worker, but I want to know the real you. That's who I am. I'm glad you were on time today. That shows me you know what to do, I just hope you know what to do for me." She stopped and inhaled her cigarette smoke.

Lainey practically choked hers out as she waited to see if there was more to her vissage of tricky words. "For you?"

"Behind the bar. Behind my bar." She looked Lainey up and down before leaning on her desk, her cleavage again showing. Lainey loved it, she was like a tease. But Lainey could see it now. She could see the invisible sign that said "for the sake of your second chance."

Lainey coughed. "And if I can prove myself?" Lainey asked, looking her up and down with a smirk.

"Then I make you full time. And my right hand girl." She smiled tapping her ash in the tray.

"You got a deal." Lainey smiled, shaking her hand once again as Leanna slipped her login code into her hand. "I'll go clock on."

Once behind the bar, nobody was there, but Lainey knew she had to prove herself. She grabbed a rag and began cleaning the bar down.

Jess just watched her. "Not even a hello, huh?" She half smirked and scoffed at Lainey.

"You haven't texted me all week." Lainey said, "besides we're working, so it's professional you know that." Lainey gave her the same attitude.

"My father took my phone. Until we move." She said looking down at the already clean floors.

Lainey stopped and looked over at her. "I'm sorry..." she stopped wiping the counter to look over at her. She walked around her, tracing her body around the side. "I love you." She smiled for a moment and passed her body to clean the other side of the counter.
