A week passed and Lainey laid glued to her bed, Jess's jacket laid next to her. It didn't even smell like her anymore. That hurt but not as much as everything else. Loneliness and emptiness filled her heart and she laid and sulked. If losing Jess wasn't enough, Chase and Lexi left over the weekend. Her PTSD about her mom was getting worse.
"Lainey-baby there's someone here to see you." Her dad called out from her door.
Lainey didn't look up, although she didn't know who it could be.
"You've been in here for too long." Lexi said as she climbed in bed behind Lainey and hugged her tight. "You're starting to stink."
With that Lainey chuckled and the tears came. She couldn't bare washing off the memories from the day she lost Jess. "Why aren't you with Chase in Texas?"
"There's going to be so many girls in Texas..." she stopped and choked on her words.
Lainey turned around in bed to face Lexi who was now also crying. "Do I need to kill him?"
"No, no... I ended it." She said. "I needed to stay here. I couldn't imagine leaving you here alone. I couldn't imagine leaving the place I grew up with Jess." They both smiled at that. Lexi pulled Lainey's curls up and out of her face. "You have to promise me something."
Lainey just looked at her, "what's up?" She sounded raspy and exhausted.
"Promise me that you will stay here. You have to live for her." Lexi smiled, tears streaming from her eyes as she thought of the possibility of loosing three people all at once.
"Seems like now I have to live for more than just Jess." She smiled softly and tucked Lexi's hair back out of her face.
Lexi smiled. "Get up. Shower. We have things to do." Lainey sighed and began to get up to do as Lexi said.
When Lainey got done in the shower, Lexi raided Lainey's closet and found a nice matching outfit for Lainey to wear.
"We're going out. I know you'd have fun at a club." Lexi said as she exited the room for Lainey to change.
When Lainey met her outside the door, her dad stood up and smiled. "How studdly. You two have fun now." He gave Lexi a bigger smile and a pat on the shoulder before they were off together.
Lexi obviously took her to a nearby club instead of the gay bar Jess and her worked at.
They walked in and the music pumped on a Tuesday night as Fire Burning by Sean Kingston played over the speakers. Lexi went to the bar, ordering their drinks as she edged herself over the bar top. Lainey stood behind her as to block the pervert's view and as Lexi straddled the bar stool, Lainey sat next to her.
"You know that dress is really short..." Lainey raised her brow at Lexi.
"I know." She said handing Lainey a shot of whiskey. She stood up and shook her ass, "you like it?"
Lainey shook her head and downed her shot as she requested another. "You're out here to fuck, aren't you." Lainey laughed.
"We both could use a little action Lainey-baby." She chuckled taking a seat and swiveling to take a look around the bar. "To us." They clanked their shots and downed them. Lexi growled and hit her chest with a deep cough as it went down.
"You're ridiculous." Lainey said, as she waved for another shot.
Lexi watched her as she did it. "You know you really shouldn't get too fucked up."
Lainey shrugged her shoulder and smiled, "I'm feeling like I'm ready to party. This last one is for good luck." Lainey got up and reached for Lexi's hand to dance. As they danced to Levitating by Dua Lipa. Eventually a girl made her way over to Lainey and began dancing near the spot they danced. When Lainey finally caught on. The lyrics continued, "You want me. I want you baby." Played and Lainey added herself right behind her, letting the girl grind her hips and ass against her. Lainey winked at Lexi and Lexi continued to dance and laughed back.
