Ellas pov
I wrote many letters to my mom after I found out about her sickness. I was worried constantly and couldn't get my mind away from her. Whenever she took longer to reply I thought the worst.
She never answered to my question about being shot with a spell though. Which made me worry even more because she probably was and that was why she was hiding it.
Dear Mother,
I hope you are doing okay. I miss you a lot and can't wait to see you.
Love,
EllaDear my dearest Ella,
I am doing just fine. Thank you for asking. I do need to inform you about something though. I will tell your siblings as well so no need to worry about that.
I am not well enough to be home at the time and your father is busy with work and me and other things so he will not be home either.
We have talked to some of our friends and they said they would be more than happy to have you join them for Christmas at their Manor.
They are Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. They have a son that is around your age but they say he's in Slytherin so you might not know him.
Anyways I can't wait to see you. There will be a time that we will see you again, I promise. We will send the presents over to the Malfoy Manor. Have a very Merry Christmas! Please be on your best behavior.
Lots of Love,
MumThe Malfoy Manor? Why?
I wanted to spend Christmas with my mother and my father. I didn't want to go to the Malfoy Manor. And I'm sure my siblings didn't either.
I had been avoiding Draco for months as best I could. He would try to talk to me but I would say a simple reply or talk to someone else. I wasn't meaning to be rude, I was just feeling embarrassed.
I put the letter into my pocket and began packing for the next day was the departure on the train. Mother said that she would tell the rest of her children the news so I didn't worry about it.
I hadn't talked to any of them either. Both Olivia and Henry had tried to talk to me but I ignored them or walked away.
I mostly hung out with Linda. Linda still didn't know about my mum and I wanted to keep it that way for the time being.
I finished packing up my later things and started walking to the Great Hall. I got inside and saw Linda,Sophia, and Hannah already seated at the Hufflepuff table. I walked over to them and sat next to Hannah.
"Hey girlie",Hannah said giving me a hug. I hugged her back as well.
"Hey",I said with a smile.
"What have you been up to today? I barely even saw you",Linda complained from the other side of Hannah.
"I was just busy packing",I said. I glanced over to the Slytherin table and saw Draco looking at me. Out of habit I gave him a smile and then quickly turned away.
"So, should we exchange gifts tonight or tomorrow",Sophia asked excitedly. I loved getting presents. I wasn't greedy or anything, I just liked opening things that people thought would be nice to get me. I liked seeing what people thought I would like or enjoy.
I also loved giving presents. I loved seeing the looks on peoples faces as they opened something.
"Tonight",I said happily as I started grabbing dinner.
"You two and presents",Hannah sighed sarcastically.
"There's nothing wrong with likening presents",I protested.
